| Primary school is not only the primary stage of students’ growth and education,but also an important stage of physical and mental development.The physical and mental development of primary school students is not mature,which puts forward higher requirements for the professional level,ability and quality of the head teacher.The Ministry of education pointed out in the opinions on Further Strengthening the work of class teachers in primary and secondary schools: "class teachers in primary and secondary schools are an important part of the teaching staff in primary and secondary schools,the organizers of class work,the guides of class collective construction,the leaders of the healthy growth of primary and secondary school students,the backbone of Ideological and moral education in primary and secondary schools,and the bridge between parents and the community,It is an important force in the implementation of quality education." As a new head teacher in primary school,he has multiple responsibilities and faces severe challenges in teaching,management and interpersonal relationship.Whether he can fulfill the challenges and realize the role adaptation is related to his future career development.In the period of role adaptation,the new head teacher of primary school often suffers from maladjustment due to the heavy pressure of work,and then suffers from setbacks at the beginning of his career.Therefore,the purpose of this study is to help the new primary school head teacher adapt to the role as soon as possible and put into work better.In a primary school in Pidu District,Xindu District and Qingyang District of Chengdu,the author randomly selects a new head teacher who has been a head teacher for no more than three years as the research object.By using narrative research methods such as interview and observation,the author searches for the first-hand and second-hand materials of the three new head teachers,and sorts out the obtained data combined with the interview and observation.Through the analysis of the interview materials,it is found that there are many problems in the process of role adaptation,including the low level of role cognition,negative role attitude,poor grasp of class management skills and improper handling of role relationship.From the perspectives of self,primary school,Normal University,students and parents,this paper analyzes the causes of the problems affecting the role adaptation of the three interviewees.In addition to the lack of self-learning and self-development of the new primary school head teachers,there are also some problems,such as improper selection of primary schools,imperfect training mechanism,lack of systematic special courses for head teachers in normal universities,Primary school students’ physical and mental development is immature and unstable.Based on the problem induction and cause analysis in the process of new primary school head teacher’s role adaptation,combined with relevant theory and empirical research,this study puts forward specific strategies to promote the new primary school head teacher’s role adaptation.First of all,we need to strengthen the pre service and post service education,optimize the pre service class teacher curriculum,improve the post training mechanism,and improve the role competency of the new class teacher;Secondly,we should improve the selection and appointment of new class teachers,optimize the selection and appointment methods,reasonably arrange the work tasks,and reduce the work pressure of new class teachers;Thirdly,we should guide the new class teacher to study independently,establish a class teacher learning community,deepen the new class teacher’s role cognition,broaden the way of autonomous learning,strengthen interpersonal cognitive learning,and realize self-development;Finally,we should improve the evaluation and incentive mechanism of class teachers,evaluate the work of new class teachers from multiple perspectives,and stimulate the work enthusiasm of new class teachers and enhance the initiative of role adaptation.The above strategies need the joint efforts of new head teachers,primary schools and normal universities. |
