Research On The Ritual Communication Of E-sports Gaming In China

In recent years,E-sports gaming in China has become effective,many head games have even become phenomenal cultural activities,with a strong sense of ritual and propagation characteristic.This paper,based on the theory of ritual communication,combined with the relevant concepts of communication and anthropology,makes an integral analysis of the recent ritual performances in E-sports gaming,and tries to explore the communication mechanism and value of the ritual performances in E-sports gaming from the perspective of communication meaning.Firstly,this paper defines the research object and category of ritual communication by sorting out the relevant concepts and theoretical achievements,explains the rationality about the study of E-sports gaming from the perspective of ritual communication,and summarizes specificities of ritual communication in E-sports gaming.Then,combining with theories of ritual communication,the paper discusses the symbol construction,the meaning generation and the positive value of ritual communication in E-sports gaming by using the participatory observation method and the text analysis method,in order to optimize the effect of ritual communication in E-sports gaming and provide some references for the development path of other competitions.The research finds that,first of all,E-sports gaming is a large-scale ritual performance which is online and offline,so it is a feasible new research idea to use the theory of ritual communication to concern on E-sports gaming.In addition,compared with the traditional competition ritual,the E-sports gaming ritual performance is more theatrical,interactive and more complicated in symbolizing.Secondly,the E-sports gaming ritual performance is an aggregation of symbols.In the process of ritual communication,the symbols constructed in the scene,form,content,media channels and other aspects,forming the contextual basis of the event ritual.Thirdly,behind the grand significance in event ritual build by symbols is attached and bound by deep social relations,and the participants of the ritual are witnessing the birth of the "hero",feeling the manifestation of competitive spirit,having completed the transformation of identity,sharing the collective memory and emotion,to share meanings and gain the emotional identification.Finally,the value of E-sports gaming ritual communication lies on giving play to impact of sharing meanings and gaining the emotional identification.In terms of E-sports,the ritual communication is conducive to promoting the identification of social identity,deconstructing the power of central media and building a new blue ocean of E-sports economy.
