Characters are an important part of history,and they are the flesh and blood of history and add to the vitality of history.The character,behavior and language of historical characters are all educational,so it is very important to teach them in the history teaching of junior high school.A historical figure is a person who leaves traces in history.These traces are not only clues to the development of history,but also the key to our understanding of this person.The role of teaching in middle school history teaching mainly includes three ways: stimulating students' interest;To train students' ability of historical generalization and historical thinking;Cultivate students' feelings of home and country.On the basis of sorting out the research on character teaching at home and abroad,it is found that most of the research on the combination of character teaching and textbook is focused on the history textbook of high school,while the research on the character teaching in the history textbook of middle school is less.The textbook of Chinese history is organized by the ministry of education and published by the people's education press under the guidance of the teaching concept of "one syllabus and one textbook".By sorting out the basic situation of the characters in the textbook of Chinese history,it is concluded that the two types of characters in the textbook are character-centered and event-based,and the characters in the textbook are educational in choice,diversified in form,intuitive in presentation and vivid in description.These characteristics provide the material for the middle school history teachers to teach the characters,but there are problems in the understanding of the characters in the textbook between teachers and students.The misunderstanding leads to some problems,such as improper ways of dealing with different types of characters in textbooks,insufficient character shaping,and emphasis on the result rather than the process.In the character teaching,students in junior high school show that due to the lack of character teachinginstruction in textbooks,students' attention is focused on the problems such as general characters ignoring important characters and the lack of space-time concept.Character teaching should adhere to the four principles of education,objectivity,interest and typicality.At the same time,enhance the understanding of the characters in the textbook,adopt different methods for different types of characters,grasp the details of the characters in the textbook,experience the inner feelings of the characters,train students to evaluate the characters from the perspective of historical materialism,and so on,so as to obtain better teaching effect of the characters in the textbook.
