The theory of differential teaching is based on the differences between individuals,based on the differences between people in gender,age,interest,values,psychological state,behavior and other characteristics,and is a differential teaching mode differing from man to man.With more and more people's understanding of tennis,more and more young people like tennis,the number of students who are studying tennis courses in colleges and universities especially in Physical Education Institutes increases,which is contradicting the "one size fits all" teaching mode of tennis and also produce problems such as low quality of tennis teaching,poor tennis techniques of students,declining interest in tennis and so on.This paper studies the effect of differential teaching method in the tennis specialized class of physical education institutions by using the comparative experiment method,selects students in tennis specialized class of physical education institutions as the experimental object,and evaluates the teaching effect of the basic tennis techniques and the tennis ability,and finally verifies the effect of differential teaching method on improving the basic tennis techniques of students.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)After one year's tennis teaching,the basic tennis techniques of the experimental group and the control group have been improved,and their average scores have reached the standard required by the second year of undergraduate students in the tennis specialized class.(2)Under the condition of implementing the differential teaching method,the technical level of the experimental group students' baseline serve,forehand and backhand stroke and volley in front of the net is higher than that of the control group students,and the technical level of experimental group is more stable.(3)According to the National Tennis Tting Program(NTRP),after one year of tennis teaching,the technical level of tennis basic techniques has been improved,from 2.5-3 to 3-3.5on average.(4)In the technical level evaluation of the experimental group,the improvement range of tennis technical ability is 0.5 level higher than that of the control group,which is reflected in the improvement of the integrity and rhythm of the technical movement of the baseline serve,the improvement of the stability of the forehand stroke and the depth of the stroke,the fuller preparation of the backhand stroke and the improvement of the ability to deal with the high ball and the fast ball,the accuracy of volley step and the ability of forehand volley to volley far body ball are improved.
