Graduate thesis is an important expression of student's academic ability and the development of subject.It also reflects the cultivation and education quality of postgraduates,the overall quality of the discipline,the professional development and the current situation.Through the analysis and research of the graduate thesis,this paper explores the research hot spots,theoretical basis and research methods on the subject of Education Economy and Management,so as to better serve the development of discipline and specialty.In 1997,the Degree Committee of the State Council combines the two secondary disciplines of Educational Economics and Educational Management to form a new cross-disciplinary subject--Education Economy and Management,which is classified under the first-tier discipline of Public Administration,with a professional code of 120403 and a degree in management or pedagogy in the catalogue of disciplines in which doctoral and master's degree are awarded to graduate students in 1998.After more than two decades of rapid development,the discipline of Education Economy and Management has gradually improved from subject setting to discipline direction.But there are still many problems worth studying and thinking about,such as,subject attribution,object of study,theoretical basis and etc.In this paper,the word frequency statistics and citation analysis in bibliometrics are used to select "China knowledge Network(CNKI)",the starting and ending time is from 2000 to 2017.Through "subject professional name: Educational Economy and Management",a total of 8935 master's papers on Educational Economy and Management have been retrieved.This paper makes a statistical analysis of these dissertations from the aspects of key words,high citation,theoretical basis and research methods,probes into and studies the present situation and development trend of the discipline of Educational Economy and Management,and makes a research and analysis on the problems in the development of this discipline.And put forward reasonable suggestions.Research findings: First,from the point of view of master's degree,most schools recognize the Public Management discipline attribute of Educational Economy and Management,but mainly under the first-level discipline of Pedagogy.Few first-level doctoral programs in Public Management set up the discipline of Educational Economy and Management.Therefore,in order to promote the development of Educational Economy and Management,it is necessary to develop Pedagogy and lay a disciplinary foundation for the high-level development of Educational Economy and Management.Secondly,the research basis and research methods of Educational Economy and Management show a diversified trend,and the theoretical paradigm and research methods of itself are relatively lacking.Most of them borrow the relevant theories and methods of Economics,Management and Pedagogy.So,promoting the study of the theoretical paradigm of Educational Economy and Management is one of the important tasks in the future construction of it.Start from the development of Educational Economy and Management,summarize the experience of discipline and rise to the theory.It provides a strong support for the subject knowledge system of Educational Economy and Management.Thirdly,the research fields of graduate dissertation are mainly concentrated in the field of higher education,vocational education and compulsory education,while the research in other fields is relatively few.The topic area of the dissertation pays more attention to the impact of external policies on education,but the research on internal issues is relatively inadequate;the research characteristics of each school are closely related to the history,development process and the attribution of the school.Hence,it is necessary to promote the continuous expansion of the research field of Economy and Educational Management,and pay more attention to the research of the internal problems of the discipline,especially the theoretical basis and research methods of the discipline itself.Fourth,there is no inevitable relationship between the direction and hot areas of Educational Economics and Management and high citation,and high citation articles are often not necessarily research hot spots.Therefore,in order to further improve the quality and level of dissertations,in the topic selection of dissertations,we should not only consider the research hot spots,but also consider the essential and core issues within the scope of Educational Economics and Management.And we can not blindly pursue hot spots.Only in this way the research results will have more people to pay attention to and recognize.
