At present,in order to adapt to the requirements of social and economic development and cultivate and develop students' skills in the 21 st century,many countries have explored new ways to cultivate talents.Based on this,China's education sector has launched the exploration of new teaching mode,project-based learning as a representative inquiry teaching mode has gradually become the focus of attention.It advocates students to explore and complete project works in a way of team cooperation around the theme of the project,which is consistent with the learning method of advocating independence,cooperation and exploration in the geography curriculum standard of general high school(2017 Edition)issued by the Ministry of Education.Now,project-based learning is still in the initial stage in China,and there is little research on the combination of project-based learning and high school geography teaching.Therefore,this paper attempts to introduce project-based learning into high school geography teaching,and further enrich the teaching practice of high school geography class.Based on the research of project-based learning theory,this paper explores how it can be applied to high school geography teaching,mainly using the literature research method to sort out the research status of project-based learning theory at home and abroad,through the questionnaire survey method to preliminarily understand the application status of project-based learning in high school geography teaching,and explains the design process and attention of project-based learning applied to geography teaching in detail.Combining current events and local geography,case design is carried out to promote project-based learning to be better applied to conventional geography classroom teaching.This paper is divided into six parts:The first part is the introduction.Through reading and combing the literature,it explains the research background and research status at home and abroad,clarifies the basic direction of the research,expounds the research significance,and puts forward the research content and research methods of this paper.The second part defines the core concepts and characteristics of project-based learning,and analyzes the theoretical basis of this paper.The third part mainly conducts questionnaire survey on teachers and students,understands their attitudes towards project-based learning,as well as the implementation present situation,and has analyzed in the development process the existence question.The fourth part is based on the above survey results,puts forward the application method of project-based learning in high school geography teaching,and discusses the design process and precautions of the model.The fifth part is guided by the teaching mode and method,combined with the teaching cases of "population migration" and "wetland".The sixth part summarizes the conclusions of this study,points out the shortcomings,and prospects for further research.
