As the soul of the nation and the basis of survival,the continuation and inheritance of the excellent traditional Chinese culture is the key to realizing the prosperity of our culture and enhancing the confidence of the national culture.Since the 1990 s,Chinese traditional cultural education research has become more and more concerned.In order to better carry out Chinese traditional culture education,it has become a trend to integrating traditional culture into subject teaching,which not only meets the requirements of the development of the times,but also meets the fundamental goal of “building people by virtue” Geography teaching has many advantages in the infiltration education of Chinese traditional culture.Firstly,the geography discipline contains rich Chinese traditional cultural content.Secondly,geography is a compulsory subject in the middle school stage,which is convenient for the infiltration education of Chinese excellent traditional culture.Therefore,geography lessons are good places to achieve the integration of traditional Chinese culture education and geography teaching.In order to better explore and carry forward the content of Chinese excellent traditional culture in geography teaching,this paper starts with the concept of Chinese excellent traditional culture to discuss the value and significance of integrating Chinese traditional culture into geography teaching and focus on the analysis of Chinese traditional culture in the geography textbooks of junior middle school published by People's Education Press,combining good traditional Chinese culture,geography curriculum,geography teaching materials,teaching practice and so on.On this basis,this paper attempts to take the chapter “Nationality ” in the geography textbook of the eighth grade of PEP as an example to design a teaching case that integrates the excellent Chinese traditional culture,and then try to practice it in teaching.Finally,the author synthesizes the current situation of geography teaching in junior middle school and excellent Chinese traditional culture education in China,and puts forward the ways and methods of integrating excellent traditional Chinese culture into geography teaching,aiming at providing some practical suggestions and strategies for geography teachers to integrate traditional Chinese culture with geography teaching.Through the research,the following conclusions are drawn:(1)Infiltration of Chinese traditional culture in geography teaching is conducive to expanding geography teaching resources and enhancing students' geographical literacy so that to promote the inheritance of Chinese excellent traditional culture.(2)The junior high school geography textbook of PEP contains lots of excellent Chinese traditional culture,which is a classic material for traditional culture education.(3)Through the teaching design and teaching practice of the “National”,it shows that integrating excellent Chinese traditional culture into geography teaching can help to carry out traditional cultural education in a subtle way cultivate and students' patriotism spirit,besides that,it can achieve the goal of “building people by virtue” and expanding the resources of geography teaching.Based on the above research,the author puts forward the ways and methods of integrating Chinese excellent traditional culture into geography teaching:(1)Improving the traditional Chinese cultural knowledge of geography teachers;(2)Integrating excellent Chinese traditional culture into different teaching links of geography teaching;(3)Emphasizing the excavation of excellent Chinese traditional culture in geography teaching materials;(4)Using the land of rural areas to achieve the goal of excellent Chinese traditional culture education.
