The report of the 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China points out that the basic project of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation is to build a powerful country in education,and the level of teachers' teaching competence affects the quality of teaching.As one of the important subjects of basic education,geography subject must cultivate excellent geography teachers in order to improve the quality of education and teaching.Therefore,it is particularly important to investigate the current situation of teaching competency of middle school geography teachers in Nanchang.Based on the research of teachers' competency at home and abroad,this study summarizes the related concepts and research status by consulting the literature,and obtains the competency index system.At the same time,questionnaire and interview were used to investigate the factors related to the teaching competency of geography teachers in Nanchang middle school(1)Nanchang City middle school geography teacher teaching competency overall level is good but has the insufficiency.The scores of the four first-class indicators are: personal characteristics(4.6983),professional character(4.6403),teaching ability(4.2377),knowledge structure(3.968),so it can be seen that the geography teachers of Nanchang middle school have better personal characteristics,but need to improve in the knowledge structure.From the secondary indicators,personality(5.2147)and professional attitude(4.8542)were better,but educational technology knowledge(3.4373)was lower.(2)The teaching competence of different geography teachers is different.The results show that there are some differences among different geography teachers in Nanchang.In terms of age,with the growth of teachers' age,their scores of teaching knowledge literacy and teaching ability index gradually increase.From the perspective of teaching age,teachers' teaching competence has improved with the increase of teaching age.From the perspective of title,the higher the title of the subject,the higher the corresponding index score.From the perspective of education background,the higher the overall level of teaching competence of geography teachers in Nanchang middle school,the higher their academic performance.From the perspective of the first education background,non geography teachers with the first education background have relatively long teaching experience due to their age,so there is no significant difference in knowledge structure and teaching ability.From the perspective of awards,the awarded geography teachers are better than the unrecommended ones in teaching competence,and their teaching competence is stronger.(3)Many factors affect the teaching competence of middle school geography teachers.It is found that teaching and research organization,teaching and research activities,reading of geography books,newspapers and external factors have great influence on the teaching competence of geography teachers in Nanchang middle school.(3)Many factors affect the teaching competence of middle school geography teachers.The organization of teaching and research,the development of teaching and research activities,the reading of geography books and newspapers,and external factors have great influence on the teaching competence of geography teachers in Nanchang middle school.In view of the current situation of teaching competency of geography teachers in Nanchang City,in order to effectively improve the teaching competency of geography teachers,this paper puts forward the following suggestions from five aspects: knowledge structure,teaching and research activities,on-the-job training,reading habits of books and periodicals and teachers' professional enthusiasm: strengthen the completion of knowledge structure,increase the development of teaching and research activities,improve on-the-job training mechanism,cultivate reading habits of books and periodicals,and stimulate Teachers' professional enthusiasm. |
