The Study Of John Locke's Thoughts Of Gentleman Physical Education

John locke was a great British materialist philosopher in the 17 th century.He was the first educational thinker in history to put forward the theory and practice of gentry sports from the perspective of medicine and physiology,and the founder of western liberalism.Among all Locke's political thoughts,“liberalism”is the core.At the same time,his thoughts on gentleman sports are of great importance in the history of education,because he promoted the transformation of European sports from ancient times to modern times,and made sports have an independent status and academic orientation,which is of great historical significance to modern western history of sports and modern sports in China.Therefore,this paper takes Locke's thought of gentleman sports as the research object,based on his political philosophy and historical data.According to Locke's works and previous scholars' research,the author generally employs documentary research method,historical research method and method of comparative research to explore the ideological content and practical activities of gentleman's sports from the perspective of Locke's view of freedom.The paper is classified into five sections to discuss,that is,the introduction of this paper is the first section,which contains the reason why the author choose this topic as a research and where its value as well as significance are,the explanation of three key noun concepts,research on present situation from domestic and overseas and research methods and contents involved.While the second section chiefly illustrates the background of Locke's gentleman sports thought,including the background of The times(times,education and sports)and the theoretical background(political philosophy,education and medical basis).The third part is to explain the relationship between Locke's gentleman sports and his view of liberty.The fourth part discusses the interpretation of gentleman's sports thought from the perspective of freedom.The last part summarizes the characteristics and historical value of Locke's gentleman sports thought and analyzes its advantages and disadvantages as well as its influence on later thinkers and sports in China,and its future research direction.Through this study,we have a clearer understanding of the origin of Locke's gentleman sports thought and the close relationship between the free thought.In order to get out of the educational perspective and use the perspective of political philosophy to elaborate the gentleman sports thought.This is undoubtedly a new research angle,which enriches the theory of Locke's of gentleman sports thought.
