John Locke (1632~1704), British philosopher, a man created empiricism, also be the first one comprehensive expounded the idea of constitutional democracy, has important influences in philosophy, politics and education domain. Locke's moral education thought is an important part of his politics, philosophy and education thought, occupies an important position. The theory of Locke's moral education thoughts, main content, historical influence and contemporary value, the three aspects are discussed in this paper. As the 17th famous liberalist, the founder of the moral education thought, his moral education thought has seldom attention. However, his moral education thought has profound philosophic, political theoretical basis. In the unrest society period in Britain, Locke combined the essence of his moral education thought and profound political science, it has important contribution and meaning in constructing the moral education thought and perfecting the children's moral and ideological education mode.This paper consists of three parts:in the first chapter, the author try to clear the social background and the historical reason of Locke's moral ideas by Locke's works and other history books, and to dig out the theoretical root in the moral education thought, in order to pass the crisscross analyzing the theoretical foundation and gradually outline the essence of Locke's moral education thought, The second chapter basically in analyzing the main ideas of the theoretical framework and core value of Locke's moral education thought. And further understanding of its moral education thought in politics, and various measures how to carry out moral education in Locke's research, and sums up its characteristic; The third chapter basically based on comprehensive understanding of Locke's moral education thought, and combined with its historical influence and position, put forward many aspects which are worth using for reference and study for the education reform in China,to solve the path of various kinds of moral problems encountered, provide new ideas. In the conclusion of the thesis, the author according to his painstaking research, widened the evaluation of Locke's moral education thought, pointed out its limitations and emphasized the essence.
