Working memory(WM)is an important part of executive function. It is a type of memory that stores information temporarily. It plays an important role in many advanced cognitive processes such as language understanding and computational reasoning. One of the hot spots in the field of cognitive psychology,it is of great significance to find ways to improve and improve working memory. In the existing research, the positive relationship between physical exercise and working memory has been initially recognized by some studies.Physical exercise is conducive to the development and maintenance of individual cognitive processing ability and improves work efficiency. However, most of the studies are single-variable studies, that is the effect of a certain sports event or a certain exercise intensity on working memory and their interactions are not discussed. Some research results are inconsistent and further research is needed. In addition, college students,as the pillars of social progress, are necessary to develop college students' working memory ability. Therefore, this study explores the impact of different types of physical exercises on college students' working memory and understands the differences. In this paper,60 college students from East China Normal University(including 30second-level athletes or above)were selected as subjects.Through two experiments, the influence of college students on working memory after participating in different physical exercises was explored.Experiment 1 used speech, spatial 2-back task and OSPAN task to compare the differences of working memory of college students with different sports backgrounds;experiment 2 used 30 minutes of sports intervention on ordinary college students to compare different exercises and intensity of physical exercise. The impact of college students' working memory. The study reached the following conclusions:(1)The working memory of high-level athletes who often engage in physical exercise or have long-term training background is superior to ordinary college students.(2)Basketball players are significantly better than track and field athletes, aerobics athletes in the response time and accuracy of the space 2-back task and aerobics athletes are significantly better than track and field athletes in the score and response of the OSPAN task.(3)Physical exercise can improve and improve the working memory of college students. It can shorten the response of speech and spatial 2-back tasks and improve the accuracy rate.(4)The basketball group performed significantly better in the space 2-back task than the running group and the aerobics group scored significantly better in the OSPAN task than the running group;the medium-intensity group scored in the speech 2-back task and space 2-The response time of the back task and the score of the OSPAN task were significantly better than those of the high-intensity group and the low-intensity group.(5)The main effects and interactions of different sports and intensities of physical exercise on college students' working memory are significant, but the interaction effects are not significant on the OSPAN task.
