Teacher resilience refers to their resilience when faced with the challenges and pressures of teaching,which is one of the important driving forces for teachers to achieve professional development,and improving teacher resilience has become an important issue for teachers' professional development.As a science curriculum,biology curriculum in middle school has important value for the development of students' key competencies.The professional quality of biology teacher in the middle school affects the effective implementation of biology curriculum.However,biology teacher in the middle school are facing pressures and challenges such as lack of education and teaching experience,heavy work load,and low attention paid by parents to biology courses.Whether new biology teachers in middle school can achieve professional development quickly depends on they can actively face the pressures and challenges at work.Therefore,it is of great significance to study the resilience of new biology teachers in middle school.This study construct a structure framework of resilience for new biology teachers in middle school with three dimensions: teacher's personal ability,teacher's belief and external support by drawing on the foreign structural framework of teacher resilience and combining the results of interviews with five new biology teachers in middle school in China.Based on the structural framework and the existing teacher resilience scale,the research develops the teacher resilience self-reporting scale for new biology teachers in middle school,and Rasch model of the classical test theory and item response theory tests show that the scale has good scientific.The study used the selfreporting scale as a measuring tool to investigate the resilience of 451 new biology teachers in middle school across the country.And the results show that the resilience of new biology teachers in middle school is strong in the external support dimension and relatively weak in the teacher's belief dimension and The overall performance and various dimensions of teachers resilience are significant in regions,urban and rural areas,academic qualifications,school types,and marital status,an there are no significant differences in gender,teaching period,and work of a class teacher.Based on the results of interviews and questionnaires,the study puts forward suggestions to cultivate the resilience of biology teachers in : at teachers' individual level,such as improving teachers' professional ability,and improving teachers' professional identity,and balancing work and life.At teachers' individual level,such as creating a harmonious school organization atmosphere,and focusing on personal needs and professional development of new biology teachers,and reducing the pressure on new biology teachers.At pre-service education and on-the-job training level,such as incorporating teacher resilience into the content of pre-service education,and on-thejob training for biology teachers,and deepening teachers' continuing education reform.
