With the continuous popularization of GIS technology and the continuous increase of software functions,its advantages in the cultivation of high school students' regional cognitive literacy are more obvious.As one of the four core literacy of geography,regional cognitive literacy is closely related to the development of disciplines and teachers.Therefore,under the guidance of relevant theories,this study analyzes the relationship between GIS technology and the cultivation of high school students' regional cognitive literacy and the current situation of its utilization.According to the survey results,it is imperative to promote the application of GIS technology in the cultivation of high school students' regional cognitive literacy.This paper takes "exploring and protecting rare species" and "responding to the change of population growth mode" as examples,designs two thematic inquiry teaching cases,and draws the following conclusions:(1)Taking "Protect wildlife habitat" and "Responding to the change of population growth mode" as examples,the teaching design was carried out.The results show that compared with the traditional teaching methods,GIS technology can better cultivate the regional cognitive literacy of senior high school students in geography teaching.Teachers can use the function of electronic mapping to expand the content of teaching materials,improve the disadvantages of the materials in the teaching materials,such as the long history,help students better understand the logic of regional problem-solving strategies;use the function of spatial data visualization to show the environment of snail habitat to students,help students understand the geographical elements of Mount Brett in a more intuitive perspective;use the function of spatial query to quickly find Give the geographical elements needed for teaching,deepen the students' understanding of the location and characteristics of the region;use the overlay analysis function of layers to help students clarify the relationship between the geographical elements of the region;use buffer analysis and other functions to guide students to think about the problems and solutions to protect rare species;use the statistical function of layer attribute table to show students the construction The amount of work required.Therefore,the use of GIS(2)technology can create a more vivid and real learning environment for students,and then better cultivate students' regional cognitive literacy.(3)Through the evaluation of teaching design in this paper,it is concluded that teachers need to carefully analyze the combination of teaching content and requirements with the functions of GIS software before using GIS technology to cultivate students' regional cognitive literacy.Teachers also need to constantly improve their own software application level to avoid taking up too much teaching time in actual teaching application.In the teaching process,teachers should strengthen the explanation and guidance,help students understand the meaning of the software processing results,and give full play to the advantages of GIS technology in the cultivation of high school students' regional cognitive literacy.(4)In order to let more teachers use GIS technology to cultivate high school students' regional cognitive literacy in geography teaching,it is necessary to constantly update teachers' concepts,improve teachers' level and their innovation ability,improve the construction of relevant facilities,accelerate the development of GIS software specially used in teaching,and improve the level of data sharing.
