Teaching materials are the basis for teachers' teaching activities and the important reference for students' learning.Junior high school is the period when students are just in contact with physics.The enlightenment education of physics plays an important role in cultivating innovative scientific research talents and popular science in China.Mechanics is the most difficult part in junior middle school physics,so this paper takes "the comparative study of mechanics in two sets of commonly used junior middle school physics textbooks of China and the United States" as the title,and combines the curriculum standards of China and the United States,analyzes and compares the mechanical parts of the two sets of textbooks in the overall content,experimental part,mathematical methods,etc.The selected research objects are: the first chapter,the sixth chapter and the second volume of the eighth grade of the physics textbook of 2012 edition of Chinese people's Education Edition;the first volume of the Science Explorer,the mainstream textbook of American junior high school.Through reading literature,comparative research and text research and other research methods,the comparative findings are as follows: 1.The scientific explorer in the United States involves much more knowledge points in each plate,which is more inclined to popular science,more diversified and rich knowledge for students to popular science,reduce the difficulty of knowledge points,and try to improve the scientific literacy of the whole people;complex concept decomposition and layered explanation are consistent with the beginning The middle school students' cognitive law,the rich and colorful illustrations in the teaching materials are easy to enhance their interest in learning and help them understand the concept,and the exercises are slightly rigid.The physics textbook of our country's people's Education Edition decomposes every little knowledge in more detail,narrates in more detail and excavates in more depth.Students are required to be able to flexibly use these physical concepts and laws,and tend to lay down the basic skills of basic physics;theinformation to be conveyed in the illustrations of teaching materials is clear,but the multi-purpose cartoon lacks a little appeal;the types of exercises after class are diversified,and the questions are not difficult but deep,which requires in-depth thinking in combination with the knowledge of this section,with a high gold content.2.In terms of experiment,the experiment designed by American Explorer is closely connected with life,which tends to let students extract problems from life and build physical models.Through the experiment,they not only summarize the physical laws,but also solve the problems in life.The experimental material selection in the physics textbook of the people's Education Edition is more diversified,the measurement method is more rigorous,and the law is more complete.The experimental design has the characteristics of preciseness,life and cutting edge.The diversified design enables students to experience rigorous scientific exploration in school,make use of personal objects at home for experimental innovation,and connect with the physics experiment in middle school through the current popular scientific and technological products.3.The scientific Explorer pays more attention to the cultivation of mathematical skills.It sets up the related plates of mathematical skills in the teaching materials.The teaching materials in our country simplify the explanation of mathematical skills,shorten the course time of each lesson,improve the capacity of physical knowledge in the course,seemingly improve the teaching efficiency.The following problem is that the students' understanding of the teaching materials is more difficult.Finally,the author compares the characteristics of the two sets of teaching materials,and points out that there are several deficiencies in the comparison of Chinese teaching materials with "scientific Explorer",such as the teaching content of physics in the primary and high schools divided into different areas,the lack of mathematical method guidance,the lack of creative subject research,the mismatch between the experiment in the textbook and the school running conditions in different places,which can be used for reference by the textbook writers in China.Some suggestions are also given for teachers to use teaching materials from the following aspects: studying various teaching materials carefully,changing teaching order reasonably,improving inquiry experiment,teaching mathematics skills properly,and supplementing physics knowledge in teaching materials properly.
