With the development of society and the progress of education,the public has put forward higher requirements for what kind of talents university education trains.It is required that university education should not be limited to a corner of the classroom,but should mobilize various forces to realize the full staff,the whole process,the full range and the whole field education.As one of the main places of College Students' activities,dormitories have been gradually found and valued for their educational functions besides their living and management functions.Residential education is an important part of university education,which plays an important role in the development of students' personality,ability improvement and quality shaping.Firstly,this research synthesizes the theoretical research,the experience of foreign residential education and the development foundation of our current residential education,and puts forward that the ideal goal of residential education should be: to promote the realization of the implicit education function of dormitory,to realize the connection between students' life and learning,and to give full play to the positive influence of multiple interaction of dormitory groups.Secondly,this study is a case study.Taking S University of H Province as an example,some undergraduates,counselors and dormitory staff are selected as the research objects for in-depth interviews,supplemented by field observation and relevant text collection,and qualitative analysis is conducted on the collected data.It is found that the main content and function of current residential education in S University is strict dormitory management system Comprehensive,standard students' daily behavior;thoughtful daily logistics service,create a comfortable education environment;pay attention to ideological and political education,create correct values;the proportion of cultural construction is increasing,create a cultural atmosphere of students' dormitory.At the same time,it is found that there are some problems in the current residential education,such as the lack of "sense of freedom" of students;the lack of attraction of dormitory;the lack of interaction between teachers and students;and the superficial participation of students' activities.Moreover,based on the comprehensive analysis of interview materials and texts,The author finds that the main factors restricting the realization of the educational value of dormitory in S University are: lack of understanding of the role of residential education;poor effect of dormitory regional space environment education;lack of support system to promote student interaction;lack of professionalism of residential education team.Finally,through the analysis of the gap between the current situation of residential education and the ideal residential education in S University,some suggestions are put forward to realize the development of residential education,which are: correctly understanding the educational role of dormitory;intangible education in tangible space;providing support for students' multiple exchange learning;improving the professionalism of dormitory educators.
