Along with the development of Chinese education around the world,the number of Chinese learners has increased.This means that Chinese textbooks have also improved.In recent years,the demand for Chinese textbooks for overseas children has become higher and higher.As one of the basic principles of textbook preparation for teaching Chinese as a foreign language,the principle of interest is an indispensable part of the textbook writing process.Improving the aspect of fun in textbooks is a very important issue especially for children's Chinese textbooks.Based on the relevant research results of national and international scholars,the interesting principles of the two children's textbooks “YCT Standard Course” Indonesian Edition and “Chinese Made Easy for Kids” Children's Edition is the research purpose and at the same time,this paper also conducted a survey on Indonesian Chinese teachers and elementary school students based on the relevant content of both textbooks,mainly to examine the views and attitudes of teachers and students on the textbook content as well as the design illustrations.We will compare the two sets of textbooks from the aspects of content and form,analyze their advantages and disadvantages and put some suggestions for the preparation of Chinese textbooks for children.I hope this paper can provide help and a reference for the preparation of Indonesian children's Chinese language textbooks.The first chapter of this paper is an introduction.This part mainly describes the significance of this topic and the research object,summarizes the current research of the existing Chinese textbooks for children and the research results related to the interesting principles of textbook writing,proposes the content that need to be further studied and also mention the research methods which are used in this thesis.The second chapter is a questionnaire survey of Indonesian Chinese teachers and Indonesian elementary school students for the interest principle of "YCT Standard Course" and "Chinese Made Easy for Kids",and analyze the results of the survey.The third chapter analyzes both Chinese textbooks from the perspective of textbook contents and textbook design illustrations.The fourth chapter is to make relevant suggestions for the preparation of Chinese textbooks for children.
