South Korea as China’s neighbor, has been keeping close contact with China in all respects. According to statistics, more than 1 million people are currently learning Chinese in Korea. In recent years, the trend of people studying Chinese has appeared younger age, many primary schools began to add Chinese language classroom. As volunteer Chinese teachers join in, south Jeolla province which is a little backward in education also began to ask for opening Chinese lessons in primary schools.The increase of the Chinese language course means the demand for textbooks. Nowadays, the number of Chinese textbooks for primary school students in South Korea market is not enough, and most schools of south Jeolla regard Chinese language course as an after-class course, not formal curriculum. The textbooks of south Jeolla province elementary school currently include two kinds, named great children Chinese and interesting Chinese conversation. According, to the author’s experience, as well as other Chinese teachers’ questionnaire survey, this paper will evaluate the two textbooks, and summarize the problems of the textbooks and make suggestions for revision.
