Geography is the subject of studying the natural environment and its relationship with human activities,which is an important carrier of environmental education.The implementation of environmental education in geography in high school is an important task to promote the construction of ecological civilization in our country at the present stage.At present,the domestic research on geography environment education in senior high school is mainly focused on theory,while the research on geography environment education in specific cities is relatively few.There are many environmental problems in resource-based cities,and the contents of environmental education are abundant,which has the advantage of geographical environment education.Therefore,it is helpful to enrich the theory of geographical environment education,propagate the local environmental protection and establish the correct view of resources and environment.Based on the methods of literature analysis,questionnaire survey,interview and case study,this paper analyzes the feasibility of environmental education in high school geography of resource-based cities,and based on the investigation of teachers and students in Hengyang city,this paper analyzes the environmental literacy of resource-based city students and the situation of environmental education in schools and geography teachers,analyzes the problems and causes of geography environment education in resource-based city high schools,and puts forward targeted strategies.The findings and conclusions are as follows:(1)The high school geography education and environment education are closely related in the education goal and teaching content,and the resource-based city environment problem is prominent and the environment education teaching resources are abundant,makes the environment education in the resource-based city high school geography teaching has the necessity and the feasibility.(2)The problems of geography environment education in high schools of resource-based cities are as follows:the implementation ofenvironment education by school and geography teachers is insufficient,the method of implementing environment education is relatively single,and the local environment education teaching resources are not fully utilized;students' comprehensive environmental literacy is not high,and their understanding of resources and environmental problems in their hometown needs to be strengthened.The reason is that school is busy coping with the college entrance examination and not paying enough attention to environmental education,teachers pay more attention to the explanation of geography knowledge,students tend to study the key knowledge of examination,and the degree of family and society support for environmental education is not high.(3)Strategies to promote the implementation of geography and environment education in resource-based urban high schools cover four levels: school,teachers,family and society.Schools should raise awareness of environmental education and create conditions for environmental education;Geography teachers should pay attention to the function of subject environmental education,follow the principle of environmental education,choose various teaching methods and make full use of local resources.Families should support the work of school and geography teachers and encourage students to participate in environmental protection;The society should strengthen the publicity of environmental protection and open the visiting channels of relevant environmental education places.
