The report of the 18 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China points out that moral education and the cultivation of people should be regarded as the fundamental task of education,and socialist builders and successors with all-round development of morality,intelligence,physique and aesthetics should be trained.Ideological and political education of the curriculum is the concrete implementation of the concept.The so-called ideological and political education of the curriculum is to infiltrate students' ideological and political education into the teaching of various courses.At present,ideological and political education of the curriculum has become an important way to improve the quality of personnel training,and has gradually received widespread attention from educators.At present,ideological and political education of the curriculum has been started in major universities in China,and the implementation targets are mostly college students.Some scholars believe that the world outlook of high school students is more malleable than that of college students.Therefore,it may be more effective to carry out ideological and political education of the curriculum in high schools.However,at present,no one has explored the implementation of ideological and political education in senior high schools in China,how to implement it and its effect,etc.The purpose of this study is to investigate the current situation of ideological and political education in high school geography teaching,to analyze the adaptability of ideological and political education in different curriculum contents,and to explore the effectiveness of ideological and political education in geography curriculum.The main progress made through the research is as follows:(1)At present,teachers have different ideas about the ideological and political education of Middle School Curriculum.It is found that most middle school geography teachers have a favorable attitude towards the ideological and political work of the geography curriculum,but there is still a deviation in the implementation of the ideological and political work of the curriculum.In content selection,most teachers prefer to combine current affairs and local problems.In teaching methods,classroom instruction is still the choice of most teachers.(2)The observation of geography classroom teaching shows that:(1)only about 40% ofgeography classes will integrate ideological and political education,and less than half of geography teachers will integrate ideological and political education in geography teaching;(2)In the geography class integrating ideological and political education,the time for ideological and political education is usually less than three minutes,which is shorter.(3)From grade point of view,ideological and political education of geography curriculum is better implemented in Senior 2,with Senior 1 taking second place and Senior 3 taking the least.From the perspective of lesson types,new lessons and review lessons are more integrated into ideological and political education than exercise classes.It can be seen from this that the ideological and political education of high school geography curriculum has not been widely and effectively implemented.(3)Through the investigation and analysis of the students,it is found that the ideological and political education of the geography curriculum has been initially implemented in the geography teaching of high schools,and 63.64% of the geography teachers have integrated the ideological and political education in the course of class.And 70.28% of the students think that ideological and political education of the geography curriculum has had some influence on their ideas.From the analysis of students' geographical values and moral status quo,it is concluded that students' overall ideological quality and geographical values are relatively good,and most of them have formed relatively correct socialist core values.However,there are relatively large differences in aesthetic values.(4)Through further analysis of the current situation for the implementation of the ideological and political education of the geography curriculum in senior high schools,it is found that there are still some problems in the implementation of the ideological and political education of the geography curriculum,mainly including four aspects such as "insufficient understanding on the ideological and political education of the curriculum","small implementation scope and large classroom differences","lack of evaluation mechanism for the ideological and political education of the curriculum" and "uncertainty in the implementation of the ideological and political education of the curriculum".(5)By sorting out and analyzing the teaching materials of Geography "Compulsory 1",it is found that eight topics such as "1.3 Earth Movement","2.4 Global Climate Change" and "3.3 Rational Use of Water Resources" are suitable for implementing the ideological andpolitical education of the geography curriculum.The implementation plan of the ideological and political education of the geography curriculum is designed according to the curriculum content,which provides some reference for the implementation of the ideological and political education of the geography curriculum in the future teaching process.(6)An empirical study is carried out on the selection of the contents of "Compulsory 1" teaching materials and the ideological and political program of the geography curriculum designed according to the teaching contents.The empirical results show that:(1)After the implementation of the ideological and political program,the values of students in the five aspects such as feelings to the family and nation,global awareness,environmental responsibility,social norms and scientific attitude have all improved to various degrees;(2)The ideological and political education of the curriculum has the greatest promotion on the values of environmental responsibility,with the difference between the scores before and after the experiment being 0.3;However,the promotion of national feelings and values is the smallest,and the difference between the scores before and after the experiment is only 0.05;(3)The difference between the total score of the values score before and after the experiment is 0.12,the overall ideological and moral values of the students has been greatly improved;(4)After the implementation of the ideological and political education of the curriculum,the students' moral behavior has been improved and raised to different degrees.
