The core idea of the new round of basic education curriculum reform in China is all for the development of students.Shandong province actively implements the new curriculum reform,and encourages schools to develop special courses and elective courses to effectively combine them with local courses on the basis of the full and well-developed national standard courses and the implementation of curriculum plans.In the middle school in Qingdao where the author works,students can also choose the elective courses suitable for them according to their own preferences in each semester.Similar to the elective courses in universities,students are taught in "walking class system".“Yue Dong Class”(here in referred as “YDC”)was published by Shinan district of Qingdao at 2019,designating to achieve above mentioned goals,advancing education reform and improving the quality of compulsory education.Efforts be made in fostering comprehensive quality with firm faith,integrity,and broad knowledge.The writer is a strong believer in YDC and starting her own chemistry optional class with local element.Combining ocean knowledge with daily chemistry lessons.To cause student's self-learning attentions in chemistry as well as to create student's ability of exploration and innovation in chemistry studying.On the other hand,answering call of ocean education development and ocean culture development.This dissertation applies ideologies of literature reviewing and case-studying and questionnaires and participation observation.Illustrating YDC's necessity in education reform and optional class development and ocean education.Moreover,there is aresearch ahead on current background of education and demand of student and teaching crew in order to integrate YDC concept in coming teaching career smoothly.Seeking possibility to combine marine elements with chemistry,discovering good potential education facilities in Qingdao.The writer sets up eight Ocean-Chemistry topics regarding the above researching methods to discuss outcomes of YDC.The writer takes post class feedback into account and by which using live teaching cases as examples in case topics work properly and understandable.Questionnaires are collected from attendants and class evaluation be carried on for reviewing and improving.The result turns to be bright via implement with YDC.Student are not only fulfilled with chemistry knowledge but also armed with ocean consciousness.During the process of learning,it helps students develop systematic structure of innovative thinking and studying interest.At last but not least,hope the essay could provide practical ideas to people who have been contributed in ocean and education career.
