At the present time,traditional teaching mode still dominates basic education in China,as a relatively simple and obsolete teaching mode,it can pass on scientific and technological knowledge to students to some extent,screen and select people with ability,but with the continuous development and progress of the society,the continuous revolution and innovation of the education,its disadvantages begin to become increasingly prominent,exploring and implementing a teaching mode becomes a priority.As a brand new teaching mode,STEAM education starts to enter the vision of educators gradually and draws a lot of attention from people,it only takes few years for STEAM education from rising to evolving maturely gradually in China.EDUCAUSE Horizon Report(2015 Basic Education Edition)indicates the emergence and development of STEAM education is a inevitable trend,which plays a crucial role in education.STEAM education mainly integrates the knowledge of science,technology,engineering,art,mathematics,and its specific implementation way also includes artificial intelligence,cooperative learning,project-based learning and etc,which advocates deep learning and lifelong learning.The implementation of STEAM education,to some extent,makes up for the inadequacy of the traditional teaching mode,accords with the background of China's current education reform,and it can effectively promote the development of teachers combining with the cultivation of Students' key competencies.The author's school introduces STEAM education in 2017,and carries out teaching research and practice.At the beginning of research,school mainly cooperates with companies which research STEAM education curriculum,buys and uses its STEAM education curriculum,and themore problems are emerging,and the most pressing problem is that despite the products from the company are made fantastic,the contents of these products are almost the developers' perfect imagination with strong sense of subjectivity,they don't meet the actual development needs and development level of students,which are away from reality of school,also part of them don't work as expected,consequently school decide to find a new way,and set out to explore and study the development and implementation of school-based curriculum.School-based curriculum is the extension and expansion of subject curriculum which is dependently developed by school teachers,its concept is more in line with the actual situation of the school and the actual needs of students' development,also it can solve some of the actual problems for school.This research is based on STEAM education concept,integrating STEAM education concept into the development and practice of school-based curriculum,constructing school-based curriculum system,and develop school-based curriculum that meets the actual situation of the school.Firstly,this paper analyzes the research of STEAM education and school-based curriculum at home and abroad,and determines the research's direction,objectives,content along with methods.Then,this paper gives an overview of the concept of STEAM education and school-based curriculum,expounding the influence and reference significance of domestic and foreign research status on this study,regarding learning theories such as cognitivism and constructivism as the guide ideology and theoretical support of this study,and the research is guided by autonomy,scientificity,education,characteristic and practicalness.Next,this paper evaluates the development status of the school,conducting scientific preliminary analysis,understanding the actual developing needs of students,teachers and school,also makes research about constructing STEAM school-based curriculum,determining the actual content of class schedule,teaching objectives,teaching contents and teaching evaluation methods,and then carry out several teaching practices in the different class.This paper will take the school-based curriculum”information agent”as an example for comprehensive analysis and explanation.After teaching practices,this paper evaluates the teaching implementation through questionnaries,interviews,exhibitions and other forms,and the results of the survey will be used as the basis for improvement of teaching practice,and the results indicates that students like to take STEAM curriculum with certaininterest,as a consequence,their abilities such as cooperation,communication and innovation have been improved combing with the development of students' key competencies.At last,there is a summary for this paper,which summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of the research,the final results indicates that school-based curriculum development based on the STEAM education concept is significant in many aspects,and it plays a positive role in promoting the development of schools,teachers' teaching and students' learning.
