| Since the Ministry of Education issued "Basic Education Curriculum Reform Outline(Trial)" in 2001,China’s new round of curriculum reform officially kicked off.The reform puts forward that we should pay attention to cultivating students’ awareness of active learning in teaching,strengthen the establishment of students’ inquiry ability in the way of multi-disciplinary integration,and implement the three-level curriculum management of national,local and school,which determines that educators should pay attention to the application of knowledge and the solution of practical problems in daily teaching.The release of biology Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education in 2011 has raised higher requirements for junior high school biology curriculum.Teachers should strengthen guiding students to carry out inquiry learning,project-based learning and cooperative learning in teaching.In 2021,the "double reduction" policy will be implemented,requiring schools to improve education and reduce students’ academic burden.STEAM education,as an innovative concept,can effectively solve the above problems in school education by integrating multidisciplinary knowledge,focusing on the cultivation of scientific skills,and emphasizing practical problem solving.Therefore,this study focuses on junior high school biology curriculum,and designs and implements a junior high school biology curriculum based on STEAM education concept.This study mainly adopts literature research method,questionnaire survey method,interview method,case analysis method,observation method,action research method and other research methods.Firstly,it focuses on analyzing STEAM education concept and relevant theories of school-based curriculum development to clarify research ideas and curriculum design context.Then 836 students in grade two of S School,the experimental school of this study,were given a questionnaire on the preliminary stage of STEAM School-based Curriculum for Junior High School Biology to understand students’ attitude towards current conventional biology teaching and their understanding of STEAM education concept,providing a learning basis for curriculum development and design.In addition,8teachers in the region were interviewed to further obtain guidance on school-based curriculum design and implementation.Then,based on the analysis results of questionnaire and interview survey,a school-based curriculum system of junior high school biology based on STEAM education concept was constructed centering on the nature of the curriculum,the basic concept of the curriculum,the design ideas of the curriculum,the objectives of the curriculum and the content of the curriculum.The curriculum model including: creating situation and putting forword questions;consulting information and theoretical learning;combining theory and designing scheme;cooperative exploration and program implementation;data sorting and scheme optimization;report communication and demonstrate improvement.Finally,according to the course model,the topic "Pigment and Application of Plants" was selected for detailed case design,and the implementation process and results were summarized to form a school-based case of junior middle school biology course with promotion value based on STEAM education concept.To sum up,through this study,the design and implementation of school-based curriculum of junior middle school biology based on STEAM education concept has been preliminarily completed in a school,and the personal development of students and teachers has been effectively promoted.It is expected that this study can provide other educators with an idea of curriculum development and play a positive role in the implementation of the new curriculum reform in China. |
