The 2021 issued a document on the reform of the examination and enrollment system in May,saying that the general high school entrance examination will soon be carried out in a new way,and that supporting measures for the reform will be carried out and improved accordingly,as well as the implementation of the new curriculum and training of new teaching materials for the General High School.In 2021,Henan Province implemented the new edition of the Geography Textbook for senior middle schools.The content of the new textbook under the requirements of the new curriculum standard has changed considerably,and the focus of the current geography college entrance examination is the“Knowledge Conception”based on textbook knowledge,it extends to the “Ability conception”of the examination questions,so that the “Quality conception”of the new college entrance examination requirements,the examination form is more flexible,the students need comprehensive and extensive thinking.Therefore,geography teaching under the new curriculum standard should focus on cultivating students’ autonomous learning ability and problem-solving ability,in order to improve the geographical core literacy.The knowledge of physical geography in senior high school can be divided into declarative knowledge and procedural knowledge,in which procedural knowledge includes geographical concepts,geographical causes,geographical laws,geographical features,etc.these procedural knowledge are suitable for teaching under the 5E teaching mode,which attaches importance to the understanding of knowledge,and is devoted to improving students’ learning interest and cultivating students’ autonomous learning ability.The teaching mode of 5E includes five links: Introduction,exploration,explanation,transfer and evaluation.The combination of the teaching mode of 5E with the procedural knowledge of physical geography makes it easy to improve the students’ interest in learning geography and to master the knowledge of geography systematically,cultivating Students Geographical Core Literacy.This article mainly uses the literature review method,the questionnaire survey method,the interview method,statistical analysis method and the case analysis method.First of all,this paper expounds the research background of the application of 5E teaching mode,and analyzes the research status quo of 5E teaching mode at home and abroad,so as to understand the relevance between 5E teaching mode and geographical procedural knowledge,and provide the basis for selecting the subject.By means of questionnaire investigation and interview with teachers,this paper investigates the application of 5E in the teaching of physical geography in senior middle schools,and finds out the following problems: 1.The compatibility of inquiry and teaching method is low,and the ability of cooperative inquiry has not been cultivated.2.The explanation link students’ thinking summary is insufficient,the geography summary Ability has not received the value.3.The application of transfer is difficult,and the transfer ability of students’ procedural knowledge of geography needs to be improved.4.The evaluation of teachers and students is lack of pluralism,and more emphasis is put on macro-angle.5.5E the application of each link is limited by the traditional classroom teaching mode.Based on the 5E teaching model and put forward the corresponding teaching strategy: 1.Reasonable integration of teaching content,optimizing the allocation of teaching methods:(1)Case method;(2)Group cooperation;(3)Situational teaching method;(4)Experimental teaching method.2.To connect the link of explanation and transfer,and to improve the ability of generalization of transfer:(1)To teach the skills of induction and summary,and to construct the framework of geography knowledge;(2)To promote the teaching of procedural knowledge by using the blackboard drawing of geography;(3)To practice in different levels according to the categories of procedural knowledge;(4)To guide students to understand and learn how to draw inferences from the past.3.Multi-evaluation is the main method.Then,according to the five links of 5E teaching mode,a compulsory course of “Atmospheric heating process and Atmospheric Movement”is designed as a case.Finally,through the Longitudinal comparison of the results of the two examinations,the actual effect of the combination of 5E model and the procedural knowledge of physical geography is obtained.2.5E teaching model under the geography learning level of students in general improved significantly.3.5E teaching model and the application of procedural knowledge to improve students’ core competence of geography in different degrees.4.5E teaching mode requires geography teachers to have high knowledge literacy.The innovation of this paper is to combine the 5E teaching model with the geography procedural knowledge,to study the application of the 5E teaching model in the teaching of natural geography and its shortcomings,and to put forward relevant strategies,this paper selects the representative natural geography procedural knowledge,designs the case,and tests the application effect of the 5E teaching model.Due to the limitation of the length of the internship,the applied research mainly focuses on the compulsory study of the new teaching materials taught by the professors,the researchers lack the knowledge system of the physical geography of the old teaching materials,and the teaching experience is also insufficient,so the research results have certain limitations,in the future in-depth study in the teaching process.
