Extracurricular reading is an extra-curricular learning activity of Chinese,which is not only an important way for students to extend their reading in class but also consolidate and deepen their knowledge in class,it plays an important role in cultivating active lifelong readers.Primary School is an important period to stimulate students' interest in all aspects of learning.To cultivate students' interest and habit of reading outside class has a vital influence on the development of primary school students.However,rural primary school students for a variety of reasons leading to less extracurricular reading,reading quality problems such as substandard.Therefore,the author will focus on the education resources and the comprehensive level of Shangzhou District,which is relatively backward,and take the rural primary school students in the region as the main subjects of investigation,this paper tries to arouse the attention of Education Department and Family to know the importance of extra-curricular reading,so as to improve the problem of rural primary school students' extra-curricular reading and improve the rural primary school students' reading ability.The paper is divided into six parts.The first part is the introduction,which introduces the source of the subject,the purpose and significance of the research,the domestic and foreign research review,the research methods and content.The second part is the significance of rural primary school students' extracurricular reading,elaborates the relevant meaning of extracurricular reading,and analyzes the relevant meaning of rural primary school students' extracurricular reading.The third part is a survey of rural primary schools in Shangzhou District.The author investigated 500 rural primary school students in three towns in Shangzhou District by means of a questionnaire,the survey involved 50 Primary School Chinese teachers and nearly 100 parents from twenty-one rural primary schools to understand the current situation of primary school students' extracurricular reading in Shangzhou District,the study found a major problem.The fourth part is the cause of the problem of rural primary school students' extracurricular reading.Based on the investigation and analysis of the rural primary school students' extracurricular reading in Shangzhou District and the teaching experience of several years,the author sums up the reasons that affect their extracurricular reading quality,from the lack of awareness of extra-curricular reading,lack of effective guidance,lack of a good reading environment,lack of extra-curricular reading resources and lack of adequate extra-curricular reading time.The fifth part is about the strategies to improve the rural primary school students' extracurricular reading ability.The author sets up the reading consciousness,strengthens the extracurricular reading instruction,the construction extracurricular reading environment,increases the extracurricular book investment dynamics in order to improve the ability of rural primary school students' extracurricular reading,the author puts forward some countermeasures to solve the problems in the five aspects of reasonable arrangement of extracurricular reading time.The last part is the conclusion,mainly explains the basic point of view and the insufficiency of this research,hopes to enrich the rural primary school students' extracurricular reading theory,provides the reference and the model for the Rural Primary School for Chinese teacher in the actual teaching.
