With the acceleration of China's development,educational equity has become a key educational issue for the Chinese Communist Party and the Chinese people.Elementary education as the basis of compulsory education,it has always been the heart of educational concern.At present,with the primary goal of equity in educational rights and educational opportunities at the primary education stage nearly reached,a call for deep-level education equality is urgent.“New Educational Equity”,an expansion and deepening of existing research on education equity,will provides theoretical support for the deep-level education equity.Teachers,as the key to promote the development of education,play an important role in educational equity.The change of role of primary school teachers is essential to meet the public's expectation of educational equity.Summarizing the literature research on "New Educational Equity" reveals it's innovation in four aspects or four transformations,namely the transformation of education from "social-oriented" to "people-oriented",from "fairness in initial phase" to "fairness in the process",from "external procedure focus" to "internal quality improvement",from "satisfying material needs" to "reaching spiritual contentment".The educational transformations in the light of “New Educational Equity” involve the transformation of the roles of primary school teachers.They should know their responsibilities in education equity and be participators in education equity.They should enrich their multicultural knowledge and be guiders for the underprivileged.They should develop their aesthetic appreciation and be scouts of students with potential.They should discard subjective prejudices be keepers and doers of all-students-are-equal.They should set the pattern and be builders for a fair atmosphere.To analyze the problems and causes primary school teachers faced in the process of role change,the author of this paper,with the above research in hand,carried out observation and interviews in class 6,grade 2,A primary school in S city,Hubei province.This paper presents a true picture of the problems revealed in the contents of interview and observation cases: the teacher's scarcity of knowledge of their responsibilities,the lack of compensation education for disadvantaged students,the constraints of utilitarianism on the development of students' potentials,the recurrence of differentiation and discrimination from teachers,and the want of positive guidance on fair atmosphere building.The paper analyzes that the main causes of the above problems reside in the teachers' lack of awareness of the importance of educational equity,the insufficient support of the teacher's education,and the deficiency of regulations and external constraints.To solve these problems,the paper elaborates the corresponding strategies of the effective role change of primary school teachers from three aspects: raising teachers' awareness of the importance of role change,providing relevant education channels for teachers to promote and achieve role change,and improving the external guarantee for teachers' role change.
