| The demand for learning Chinese is growing with the increasing popularity of Chinese and the method of distance learning is provided with great opportunity with the development of information technology.Based on the case study of the elementary Chinese interactive distance learning(IDL)of Maize High in the United States,this study probes into the questions of how to integrate the new technology with the traditional Chinese classroom and how to adapt to the needs of the time.According to the teaching environment in Maize High,this study will attempt to develop a set of teaching paradigm suitable for the IDL Chinese class of Maize High and to solve the problem of deviation in classroom from the IDL mode.It could will be served as a reference for the following IDL Chinese teaching in this area.The thesis is divided into six sections:The first part provides a general introduction of the study from aspects of the reason for choosing this topic,the purpose and significance of the study,the previous studies and the methods of the research.The second part states the definition and characteristic of Interactive Distance Learning and sums up the status quo of IDL from the basic form and the limitations of development.The third part introduces Interactive Distance Chinese Learning of Maize High School in detail combined with the current popular foreign language teaching ideas and teaching methods in the U.S.This part also summarizes several teaching problems about teaching materials,distance teaching efficiency,emotional communication between teachers and students and the collection and distribution of homework founded by author in teaching practice.The fourth part elaborates on the improvement of teaching design and its implementation for IDL in Maize High.Three parts of teaching are chosen as the targets including distance teaching of Chinese characters,integration of students' interest and learning content and diversified design of homework and narrations will also be given on the design concept,specific operating procedures and feedback of teachers and students of the three parts.The fifth part provides relevant suggestions on teacher training in IDL,the requirements for teachers in international distance teaching and the construction of distance learning platform.The final part concludes the shortcomings of this thesis as well as advices for further study. |
