Malaysia is a multi-ethnic country and has three major races-Malays,Chinese and Indians.Therefore,compared with other countries,Malaysia' s language environment is very complex.Malay,English,Mandarin,Indian and indigenous languages coexist.As the international fervor to learn "Mandarin" intensifies year by year whilst at the same time,the proportion of the Chinese population in Malaysia grows,more Chinese in Malaysia are choosing to learn Mandarin at present.However,as their mother tongue is mostly non-Mandarin and as they live in a multicultural country from an early age,learning Chinese in this kind of language environment is bound to be influenced by the negative transfer of their mother tongue and cultural life customs,thus greatly affecting Mandarin learning.In order to better promote Chinese language education in Malaysia especially for secondary school students,this paper takes the students of Sabah Tshung Tsin Secondary School(both junior school and high school)as the research objective.The ways forward are using the literature method and questionnaire to conduct sample surveys for students and teachers.By analysing classroom teaching to teaching methods,teaching effects,curriculum settings,and teaching materials used,will enable a more comprehensive understanding of the overall Chinese teaching in Sabah Tshung Tsin Secondary School.Which also point to the achievements and problems faced in the process of learning and teaching of Chinese.And hope to seek solutions to the problems.Through survey and analysis,this article finds that Chinese teaching in Sabah Tshung Tsin Secondary School is fruitful as students perform better and teachers are more dedicated.However,there is still a shortage of Chinese teachers and teaching standard needs to be improved.The curriculum and teaching materials are not quite up to the standard.Students' enthusiasm for learning still needs to be improved.On this basis,this article puts forward suggestions for improvement on strenghening the knowledge of teachers,improving their teaching skills,optimize curriculum settings,better textbook allocation and enhancing students'enthusiasm for learning through different methods.In this paper,the research based on survey and analysis of Chinese teaching in Sabah Tshung Tsin Secondary School is divided into five chapters.The specific content of each chapter is arranged as follows:Chapter 1 Introduction,the reasons for selecting the topic,the significance of the research,researching the current conditions,the research methods and innovations;Chapter 2 The overview of Sabah Tshung Tsin Secondary School and Chinese teaching;Chapter 3 The survey for the Chinese teaching in Sabah Tshung Tsin Secondary School.The questionnaire is divided into teacher's questionnaires and student's questionnaires;Chapter 4 The survey and research's results of Chinese teaching in Sabah Tshung Tsin Secondary School.Analysis from the four major components-students,teachers,courses and teaching materials;Chapter 5 To highlight the achievements and problems faced in Chinese teaching in Sabah Tshung Tsin Secondary School and to put forward suggestions for improvement.The final part is the conclusion.
