In recent years, the inflow pattern of the migrant workers has changed, and family migration accounts for a large proportion, forming a large group of migrant children. The socioeconomic status and educational level of migrant workers are low.If serious intergenerational transmission occurs in the education of the migrant children, they will repeat the parent's education trajectory, forming an educational disadvantage, and making the survival of migrant workers more difficult. Therefore,in this article, this author review and analyze the existing literature and research, which confirm that the intergenerational transmission of education does exist, and educational expectations play a mediating role in it.Therefore, this author conducts interviews and surveys on migrant workers and their migrant children,to understand the living conditions of migrant workers and the education status of their migrant children. Then this author analyze the reason for the intergenerational transmission of education from the beginning, the process and the outcome of education, and try to point out the mediating effect of educational expectations. At last, this author put forward targeted recommendations, based on the results of the interview research. The results obtained through interview surveys and research analyze are as follows:Migrant workers usually bear lower socioeconomic status, longer working hours, greater work intensity and relatively crowded living condition. Most of them have only received education below high school. The migrant children are currently mainly study in private schools, taking less tutoring classes outside of class and showing strong utilitarianism in the type of tutoring classes and their school performances are not good enough. The intergenerational transmission of education is permeated with educational opportunities, processes, and results. In terms of educational opportunities, although the migrant children share the opportunity of compulsory education with urban children, the educational opportunities are quite different.Migrant children generally can only enter private schools or schools in rural-urban junction areas. In the education process, they often move and transfer, receive less attention from the teacher in the classroom, and the help from their parents is limited. Finally,in terms of educational results, due to unequal policies in the entrance examination, the educational results are generally not ideal, and the educational disadvantages of their parents are repeated.Parents 'educational expectations can ultimately affect their children's educational achievements by adjusting their educational investment and participation behaviors and students' expectations of themselves in the future.Parents have high expectations for their children's education, but at the same time they show a vague and lethargic attitude. This vague and unstable educational expectation leads to parents' insufficient investment and participation in the education of migrant children, and the migrant children have insufficient expectations of themselves, there is also a lack of active cultural places near living areas, which ultimately leads to the intergenerational transmission of education. In order to ease the intergenerational transmission of education, the joint efforts of society, school, family and individual students themselves are needed. The government should implement targeted assistance and encourage cultural capital assistance from NGOs;schools should value cooperation with families, create a positive education expectation network for students, and improve their self-education expectations;Parents need to learn scientific methods, strengthen parent-child communication, pass firm educational expectations, and actively participate in educational activities;migrant children should set reasonable goals, actively evaluate themselves, and learn to actively seek help.
