Intergenerational relationship refers to the two-way interpersonal relationship between two generations, which is a very important social relationship. The family intergenerational relationship can not be ignored in the family system.Harmonious family intergenerational relationship not only plays a vital role in each family, but also in the whole society. In the 1980 s,the emergence of "migrant workers" led to a large number of young parents moving to the city. The migration led to the split of the original family structure, forming two groups of people with special life experiences: left behind children and parents who went out to work.Nowadays, the old generation of migrant workers are old,and their physical functions can no longer support them to work abroad.Due to the needs of providing for the aged and the traditional cultural factors that the children have the obligation to support their parents, most of them will choose to re integrate into their children’s families after returning home.Nowadays, the children with long-term left behind experience have grown up,and most of them have their own new families.Facing the returning parents, their intergenerational relationship is more complex and diverse, and intergenerational harmony of the family is of great significance to the stability of the whole society. Therefore, this paper puts forward the following questions: what is the family life of migrant workers under the background of family migration? In this process, what changes have taken place in their family intergenerational relations? What are the similarities and differences between intergenerational conflict and intergenerational support of family and traditional family? Finally, from the perspective of life course theory and analysis framework, this paper puts the intergenerational relationship of migrant workers’ families in the life context of individuals and the whole family, and makes a qualitative interpretation and analysis of its promoting factors and action principles.Based on the above research problems, this paper uses the qualitative research method, selects l family in M city as the case family, uses the case study method, under the guidance of the life course theory, analyzes the principle of intergenerational relationship of migrant parents after they return home from work due to their old age, that is,how migration affects family relationship. It is found that compared with traditional families, the intergenerational relationship of L family is no longer a complete and continuous social relationship, but because of the unique life course of its family members,it is divided into two stages: the stage when the parents went out to work in their early years and the stage when the parents came home after finishing their work.First of all,it analyzes the structural changes of the case family and the life course of the case family members, draws the life trajectory map,and compares the far-reaching impact of different life courses on individual life.Secondly, through semi-structured interviews and participation in observation to collect data, this paper interprets the family life of migrant workers. Finally, under the guidance of life course theory, this paper explores the impact and mechanism of migration on the intergenerational relationship of migrant workers’ families. In the research object, this paper combines two groups with special life experience(migrant workers and left behind),and explores the intergenerational relationship of migrant workers into their adult children’s families after returning home from the perspective of life course theory. Finally, based on the research findings of this paper, and focusing on family social work, this paper puts forward relevant service suggestions, which has important practical significance to promote the establishment of harmonious intergenerational relationship of similar families.
