Along with the constant deepening of reform and opening-up,further development of urbanization process and the process of social transformation in our country,more and more 40 years old and older workers because of the demand of social development and their own ability or other questions,they detachment or long-term professional positions as a special group,we usually call it middle-aged unemployed.The middle-aged unemployed are in a special and critical period of their lives.Due to unemployment,middle-aged unemployed and their families will face problems such as readjustment to life and social integration.After the decline of basic economic and living standards,this special group will face various problems and needs.In this article the writer takes the middle-aged unemployed as the object of study.mainly carries on the exploration from three aspects to help middle-aged unemployed reemployment.First,to understand and analyze the relevant literature at home and abroad;second,to explore the direction of implementing re-employment assistance for the elderly unemployed;third,to explore the methods and skills of case work involved in re-employment assistance for the elderly unemployed.Based on the social support theory,Maslow,s hierarchy of needs theory and the advantage perspective theory,this paper searches the unemployment and reemployment related issues of the middle-aged unemployed through questionnaires and interviews,and uses case work to intervene the three selected cases.The first case subject suffers family misfortune,she has deep psychological pressure,feel confused to the life.The second case has poor communication ability and low employment technical level.The third case subject causes the disability because of the accident experience.Through the intenvention of case work,this paper helps the client change his living attitude,face up to the reality of unemployment,dispel negative emotions,improve employment confidence,and help the client get out of the unemployment haze by linking various social resources.At the same time,the advantages and limitations of case work involved in re-employment assistance for the middle-aged unemployed are summarized in the process of case work,and effective working methods are summarized to provide experience for the related work in the future.This paper holds that the intervention of case work is mainly carried out from psychological and physiological aspects in view of the various difficulties existing in the unemployed people of old age.In terms of psychology,social workers should resolve the negative emotions caused by the lack of self-confidence,the inadaptability to life and the negative emotions caused by family problems among the unemployed of older age,and encourage and support them.In terms of physiology,most of the middle-aged unemployed have lower education background and lack employment skills.Social workers should help them to link various social resources such as employment training classes and employment center information,so as to promote the re-employment of the unemployed people with older age.
