In recent years,the Lao economy has shown a rapid development.On the other hand,the development of basic education in Laos has not been synchronized with economic development.The gap between economic development and education has been widening.Basic education faces many challenges.The problem is even bigger.Teacher motivation has always been one of the core contents and hot spots of teacher human resource management and development research,and is a key element in the development of basic education.From the perspective of incentive mechanism,it is a very important topic to compare and analyze the incentive methods and existing problems of high school teachers in China and Laos,and to consider feasible countermeasures to improve the development of basic education in Laos.Through the above combing of the literature related to teacher motivation,combined with the relevant incentive theory,the research believes that the teacher incentive factors mainly include wage and welfare factors,(salary,welfare,etc.)personal growth and development(training system,assessment promotion,etc.),work environment factors(colleague relationship,student evaluation,teaching environment,etc.).This paper focuses on the incentives of China and Laos in terms of incentives for high school teachers around these three aspects.The study first introduced the main practices of high school teachers in China and Laos,summarized the similarities and differences,and then distributed questionnaires,including 133 high school teachers in China and 103 high school teachers in Laos.Questionnaire surveys of high school teachers in China and Laos found that:(1)Chinese high school teachers' satisfaction with wages is slightly higher than that of Laos high school teachers,and the income gap is the biggest factor in the dissatisfaction of Laos high school teachers' wages;(2)Chinese teachers The welfare satisfaction is higher than that of Laos high school teachers.The welfare is small and the welfare gap is the main problem;(3)China and Laos are not satisfied with their personal growth and development,and their satisfaction with the training system is not high.It shows that the work and efforts of the two countries to encourage teachers' growth and development are not enough;(4)Laos and Chinese high school teachers are not satisfied with the teacher promotion system,but the satisfaction of Lao teachers is higher than that of Chinese teachers.The dissatisfaction of the promotion system of high school teachers in Laos is mainly due to the imperfection of the promotion system.However,the dissatisfaction of Chinese high school teachers with the promotion system is mainly due to the unscientific promotion evaluation;(5)the recognition of high school teachers in Chinese society is extremely high,bringing high school teachers There is a sense of pride,and the social identity of Laos high school teachers is weaker and needs to be further improved.(6)The relationship between Laos and Chinese high school teachers and colleagues is relatively good,and the teaching atmosphere of Chinese high schools is far from the high school teaching atmosphere in Laos.Although there are problems in the incentives of high school teachers in both countries,the high school teachers in Laos have the problem of "institutional and structural",which is more serious.It is necessary to combine Laos' national conditions and learn from some beneficial measures inspired by Chinese high school teachers.Laos high school teacher incentive mechanism.Including:optimizing the teacher compensation system,moderately improving welfare;improving the teacher training mechanism,optimizing the evaluation promotion mechanism,exploring value incentives;improving the teaching facilities environment,improving the classroom interaction environment,and optimizing the school's human environment.
