We have got into the society of knowledge economy since the twenty first century, where dramatic scientific development is taking place. Meanwhile, we are in a fast going age, where economy and society are both running forward fast. The society of knowledge economy and economic globalization brings about opportunities as well as challenges to our nation. It has become an urgent issue as regarding how to grab this chance to meet challenges, to strengthen our comprehensive national strength, and to push forward national economy. The competition of comprehensive national strength is in nature competition of talents and education, that is why our colleges are playing a very important part in improving our national competitiveness and prompt sustainable social development.Advanced talents require advanced academic staff, therefore, our colleges aiming at cultivating talents must attach great importance to the administration of teacher resources and the incentive measures for teachers in order to stimulate their enthusiasm, initiative and creativity. To date, the problems in the incentive mechanism of college teachers have severely affected the higher education and the college competitiveness, so it is of great current and future help to improve the general quality of college academic staff, better the level of national higher education and push up our national strength by researching the incentive system of Chinese college teachers.On this premise, the thesis, with methods of theory discussion, inductive and deductive reasoning, and comparison, carries out a general and systematic analysis on the completion of the incentive mechanism of college teachers. Firstly, the thesis sets forth concepts related with incentive and major incentive theories, which lays theoretic foundation for this thesis; secondly, it analyzes the current situation of the incentive mechanism of college teachers, from the achievements it has made, to its problems, including single and rigid forms, lack of flexibility, lack of scientificity, too much rigidity and under-performed academic rights and unformed democratic administration atmosphere; thirdly, it summarizes foreign classic experiences. After these, the thesis sets forward the basic blueprint of the completion of college teachers' incentive mechanism, that is, the completion must based on Chinese university strategy, abide by some certain principles, and must take into account college teachers' features; in three ways, that is, analysis of teachers' needs, incentive means and evaluation and feedback, it makes clear the content of the completion of the incentive mechanism of teachers; in the mean time, it sets forward the institutional guarantee, that is, to complete the professional appointment system of universities, to establish a reasonable and effective evaluation system, an incentive payment system, a scientific training system, and tomprove inner environment and create a institutional environment for teachers' democratic participation and fair competition.
