The university teacher development center is a specialized institution for teaching research,promoting teacher development,and improving the quality of education.China's university teacher development center is under the background of the large-scale enrollment of colleges and universities in China,which leads to the shortage of teachers and the decline of the quality of higher education..Since 2012,China's colleges and universities have begun to build a large-scale teacher development center.Higher vocational colleges have also followed the establishment of teacher development centers in ordinary undergraduate colleges,aiming to improve the professional quality and teaching ability of higher vocational teachers,and to cultivate "double" in line with the requirements of the times.Teacher-type "teacher talents" will ultimately improve the quality of higher vocational education.This paper mainly studies the development of teacher development center in higher vocational colleges in China from the perspective of function,and takes the teacher development center of X Vocational and Technical College as an example to discuss the status quo and function of teacher development center in higher vocational colleges in China.It points out the shortcomings of the two core functions of "service" and "professional" in China's higher vocational colleges,and analyzes the main aspects of the functions of teacher development center from four aspects: organizational structure,functional orientation,management mechanism and supporting mechanism.The reason why the functions of the teacher development center of higher vocational colleges played an unfavorable role.The main reasons are as follows: Firstly,the division of labor among group managers is not clear,which is mainly manifested in the unclear areas of responsibility of employees and unreasonable matching with the employees and positions and in the mismanagement of organizational activities.Second,the implementation of the secondary management system is not strong,because the management system is imperfect,leading to the inadequate function of the teacher development center.Thirdly,the orientation of the central function mostly points to the improvement of teaching skills.The teacher development center pays too much attention to the improvement of teachers' teaching level in curriculum setting and content selection,but neglects the attention to psychology,life and curriculum follow-up service,which makes the service function play a deficient role.Fourthly,the lack of effective incentive mechanism for teachers and teaching staff,due to the lack of a scientific assessment system,cannot give timely incentives and incentives to relevant personnel,leading to their lack of initiative in work or training,resulting in dull content of training courses,monotonous teaching activities and poor quality of training and other issues.In the last chapter of the paper,according to the current situation,problems and reasons analysis,the author puts forward some countermeasures and suggestions that can promote the function of the teacher development center in Higher Vocational colleges.First,the organizational structure of the teacher development center in Higher Vocational colleges should be optimized.By reasonably constructing the organizational structure of the independent teacher development center,and setting up personnel posts scientifically,the school can improve the management function of the teacher development center.Secondly,the management system and training process of teachers development center in Higher Vocational colleges should be clarified.By establishing a scientific management team,forming a written management system,the school improves the management system of the teacher development center,and at the same time improves the rationality and standardization of the training process,thus promoting the development of the training function of the teacher development center.Thirdly,the core functions of the teacher development center for all-round development of the teacher should be clarified.Through defining the orientation and development direction of the functions,the school strengthens the professional working ability of the teachers development center,and then ensures the status of its various functions.Fourthly,the incentive mechanism for managers and teachers should be improved.By improving the assessment system for managers,schools encourage them to participate actively in the work,and through the construction of teacher development funds,improve the enthusiasm of teachers to participate in teaching and development activities.
