The leader of secondary education,the middle school principal,plays a vital role in the continuous advancement of comprehensive education reform in the new era.In today’s fast-developing society,the power management influence and non-power influence need to be comprehensively used in the school management process.Only when the two are coordinated and promoted together can the maximum development efficiency be achieved.How to grasp the relationship between power influence and non-power influence? How to give full play to the initiative and enthusiasm of school members based on the influence of power influence and relying on non-power influence? How to effectively improve non-power influence? These are all questions that school managers have to think about and study.There are a large number of schools in Yangpu District of Shanghai,which can basically represent the overall status of Shanghai middle schools.This study selects some middle school principals in Yangpu District of Shanghai as the research object through typical sampling methods.Before the formal investigation and research,conduct literature search and review,and formulate relevant research methods.The questionnaire design starts from the factors influencing the non-power influence,and understands the current status of the non-power influence of the principals in the middle school.The interviewees involve multi-level school members to understand the leadership styles of different style principals and collect the cases of principal school management.At the same time,on-site observation and analysis of works as an auxiliary means of research,collecting relevant text materials of the school,participating in major events and conferences of the school,etc.,to increase the in-depth,comprehensive and diverse research content.The study found that the use of non-power influence in the headmaster of the school has three development issues that deserve attention: the understanding of the leadership role is limited to the focus on the effectiveness of rigid management;when it comes to management effectiveness,it is satisfied with the use of existing professionalism;Management relies too much on the use of power influence.These problems restrict the principal’s non-power influence to a certain extent;for these problems,it is necessary to explore how to solve problems and improve practice through management practice innovation.Further research based on this shows that the principal’s own professional training is a way to effectively enhance the non-power influence.Through professional training,the principal updates the understanding of the principal’s leadership role with advanced professional standards;improves the professional literacy of non-powerful influence through active learning;and can comprehensively apply two types of influence in the actual process of promoting school development.Thereby effectively improving the leadership behavior of the principal and promoting the smooth development of the school’s work.
