| For a long time,educational research has been considered as an important factor affecting the professional development of principals.The local education administrative department takes the principal's commitment to educational research projects and the achievement of educational research results as important indicators for evaluating the principal.Many educational and training institutions include guiding principles on how to carry out scientific research as part of principal training.Actively fighting for scientific research topics and continuously producing educational research results has become a task that many principals must complete.However,from the perspective of research,the relationship between the principals' educational research and their professional development has not been fully discussed.Therefore,in this study,the researcher selected principals from the fourth FamousPrincipal-Training project named “Peak Plan” as the research object.Based on literature research,collecting materials through interviews and other methods,using grounded theory and case studies to discuss how principals participate in educational research,and how the process affects the principal's professional growth.The study found that the principal,as an educator,manager,leader,and researcher,promotes school educational research by realizing its functions.At the same time,this study explores the main paths of promoting the professional development of principals by schools' educational research,including: internal effects,that is,schools' educational research through expanding the outer edge of knowledge and optimizing the knowledge structure;building a thinking structure and changing the way of thinking;optimizing working methods and improving management capabilities;Deepen their educational understanding and optimize educational thinking those four dimensions to help the principal to achieve the improvement of professional knowledge,professional thinking,professional ability,and professional spirit.External effects,that is,the improvement of the internal quality structure brought about by educational research,can be well transformed into external performance.The principal's final work performance is reflected in four aspects: assisting student development,promoting the construction of teachers,bringing about reforms in all elements of the school(course teaching system,management system,school culture),bringing academic results and academic impact.In reality,the process is not a simple causal derivation,but a holistic,dynamic and complex process.In addition,this study also explores the periodical changes of principals' attitudes towards educational research.In order to further deepen the training mode of principals,the research puts forward that it is necessary to correctly understand the main functions of educational research in schools which in elementary education stage,match the requirements of educational research with the growth stage of principals,and also provide more suggestions for principals and schools to carry out educational research. |
