It is more and more common for primary school students to participate in various tutorial training course in today’s society.Parents are no longer satisfied with basic school teaching.In order to obtain better educational resources and to develop in many aspects for children,many families have chosen to participate in selective education.Selective education has changed from an education model with only a few people to the current popular education model,and households have more and more selective education expenditures.The problems that come with it are gradually revealed.In this context,the investigation on the selective education expenditure of primary school students in Xushui District of Baoding City was conducted.This study investigated the participation of selective education of students from three schools in Xushui District,Baoding City.The study uses questionnaires and interviews as main method for data collection,statistics and organization,analyzes the factors affecting selective education expenditure.The study refines the problems and analyze the reasons.Finally,the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions are put forward from the levels of government,school,family and society.It was found that nearly half of the students participated in selective education.There are different situations in which selective education is offered to schools in different locations.With the deepening of the remoteness of the county,the proportion of participating in selective education is less.And selective education spending is also showing a downward trend.Among the influencing factors,family characteristic is the most significant.Student individual factor and external factor are not the influencing factors of selective education expenditure.It is found that there are some problems for the investigation conclusion: Parents have irrational behavior in selective education.Parents ignore the children’s subjectivity when selected.Selective education expenditure class differentiation is more obvious.Participating in selective education will increase the burden on children.And the selective education market is not perfect.Then put forward targeted recommendations from the government,schools,families and society.Government should standardize the selective education market and play its service function.Government should create a public service platform to provide compensation education services and optimize the after-school service policy for primary school students.School should innovative teaching methods to improve teaching quality.School should pay more attention to the cultivation of students’ interest.The evaluation of students’ academics should also be more diversified.Parental aspect: Parents should establish a correct educational concept,scientific and rational treatment of selective education.Parents usually communicate with their children,paying attention to words and deeds.Social aspect: Society should guide the correct paradox and build a good social atmosphere and change the talent evaluation criteria to help the public form a correct view of talent.
