Group Work Intervention Study On Psychological Stress Of Parents With Mentally Handicapped

In the internship process of mentally handicapped Social Service Center,the author found that parents with mentally handicapped not only have economic pressure,lack of professional rehabilitation skills,but more importantly,parents also have huge psychological pressure.parents with mentally handicapped have long faced a single,repetitive care work,if there is no emotional venting and timely relief of psychological pressure,they can easily feel desperate,helpless and even lose confidence in life,and seriously affect physical health.Therefore,parents need support for improved psychological and family harmony.This study is based on the parents of a social service center for mentally handicapped people in Lanzhou.From the following five stages:In the first stage,the author uses literature research to collect a large amount of literature data,explores the significance and value of the research,finds the entry point of the research,and tries to find the possible innovations of the article.In the second stage,with the help of the institutional instructor,the author uses questionnaires and scales to understand the psychological stress of parents,and combines case interviews to study the specific causes of parents.In the third stage,the author recruits the team members from the parents with the worst psychological stress,and designs a reasonable group plan according to the needs of the team members to prepare for the effective development of the group activities.In the fourth stage,the specific implementation stage of the team.In order to ensure the full participation of team members,the author initially set up a group activity on every Saturday morning.The whole group activity is divided into six sections,that is,six group activities are set up to intervene in the psychological stress of parents.In the fifth stage,effect evaluation and summary reflection stage of the group,the author evaluates effect intervention of the group through quantitative AB design and qualitative the conscious change of teammembers.The author found that parents with mentally handicapped have serious psychological pressure.Participating in the support team can help the parents to relieve psychological stress to a certain extent.The social work profession has great development space in helping parents with mentally handicapped.However,the factors affecting the psychological stress generated by parents in the long-term care life are intricate.In the future,governments at all levels and all walks of life will be required to introduce relevant policies and measures to build a more comprehensive support system to help parents solve their problems from the source.
