| With the convening of the 19 th National Congress,China’s development has entered a new era and is gradually establishing a high-quality development system.Under this situation,the original development model of academic continuing education in universities has been unable to adapt to the new requirements put forward by the new era.It is urgent to adjust the conception and orientation of school-running and explore the school-running model that conforms to the times and its own development to promote the high quality development of academic continuing education in universities from optimizing its structure and enhancing its connotation.Since the reform and opening up,the scale of academic continuing education of universities in China has achieved a large-scale expansion,and a large number of high-quality talents and laborers have been cultivated,which have made great contributions to social development and the improvement of nation’s overall quality.But at the same time,in the process of rapid development,it exposed its own drawbacks.The problems of quality,scale,structure and efficiency have become increasingly prominent,which has become a major practical problem the academic continuing education of universities needs to be faced with.As an educated person,the learning situation of adult students is crucial to the development of academic continuing education in universities.Optimizing the learning situation of adult students is the fundamental way to solve the current predicament.Therefore,making the research on adult learners and improving the quality of training are urgent tasks in keeping with the development of the times and maintaining the reputation of academic continuing education in universities.Based on the background of the new era,this study is guided by Knowles’ adult learning theory and Maslow’s hierarchy of needs theory.It adopts literature research method,questionnaires and interviews.Questionnaires and interviews are conducted among adult learners of H University to learn about their learning situations,analyze the problems and try to propose solutions.This research is divided into the following five parts.The first part includes the introduction,which mainly includes origin,purpose and significance of the research,literature review,design of the research,focus,difficulty and innovation of the research.The second part contains concept definition and theoretical basis.The three concepts of academic continuing education in universities,adult learning and the learning situation are defined.The theory of Knowles’ adult learning and Maslow hierarchy of needs are summarized.The third part includes the investigation of the adult learners’ learning situations of H University.The design of the questionnaire and interview,the basic situation of H university and the adult learners surveyed are introduced.Based on that,questionnaires and interview surveys were carried out to conduct a more comprehensive analysis of the survey’s results.The fourth part is about the problems existing in adult learners.It highlights the aspects that need to be improved in the adult learners’ learning situation.It will explain and discuss the three aspects of learning preparation,learning process and learning outcomes.The fifth part contains the strategies for optimizing adult learning.Combined with times’ requirements,it puts forward strategies to form synergy and optimize the learning situation of adult learners from the dimensions of adult learners,government,university,professional organization and other. |
