The teacher in rural areas is the power and hope of revitalizing rural education.Strengthening the construction of the teacher in rural areas is the key to developing rural education and promoting educational equity. In recent years, the unstable situation of rural teachers is still severe, and the excessive work pressure is an important factor that leads to the primary school teachers in rural areas "teaching is not good and cannot stay".The problems that need to be solved immediately are as follows: precisely locate the rural primary school teachers' work pressure, deeply explore the reasons for the excessive work pressure of rural primary school teachers and alleviate the work pressure of rural primary school teachers from the policy level. This study adopts the literature method, the questionnaire survey method and the interview method.Based on the literature review,a survey was conducted on 24,291 rural primary school teachers in 18 provinces of east, central and west China.Based on the interaction theory of stress,a theoretical model is established to study the work pressure of the primary teacher in rural areas. It is found that the work pressure of rural primary school teachers mainly comes from four dimensions: role responsibility, class management,non-teaching affairs and personal development. The level of work pressure of rural primary school teachers is high on the whole, and the pressure of role responsibility takes the lead. The primary teacher in rural areas with different working backgrounds and individual characteristics have significant difference in work pressure.Through multiple linear regression analysis,it is concluded that work pressure has a positive prediction effect on stress response, among which role responsibility pressure has the greatest influence on stress response.Work pressure has a negative impact on the physical and mental health of the primary teacher in rural areas.In-depth discussion of the reasons for the excessive work pressure of rural primary school teachers, this study believes that there are four points: the first is the generalization of the role of rural primary school teachers, the second is the rural primary school teachers pay-feedback imbalance, the third is the students that rural primary school teachers facing are complex and diverse, the fourth is the personal development of rural primary school teachers is hindered.Based on the above analysis, this study puts forward policy suggestions to alleviate the work pressure of rural primary school teachers from four aspects, including clarifying the responsibility scope of rural primary school teachers, improving the treatment and status of the primary teacher in rural areas, safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of the primary teacher in rural areas and improving the evaluation and employment system of rural primary school teachers.
