Research On Learners’ Eye-movement Behavior In Online Testing

As an important psychological research method,eye movement research has been widely used in education research,in recent years,and quantifying the learning process behind students’ learning behaviors.Examination is an effective way to assess the level of knowledge ability,and the collection of the learners’ eye movement information in the examination process helps to objectively perceive the cognitive level and ability of the learners.Based on this,this study used Tobii EyeX eye tracker to collect learners’ eye movement behavioral data in the online testing environment.The 17 eye movement index and the test results of the students’ in online testing has been used to explore students’ visual attention pattern,the factors that affect students’ visual attention and the characteristics of the eye movement track.The main research content of this article is as follows:1.In the online testing environment,what factors influence the learner’s visual attention test,The test questions factors include the difficulty of the questions and the type of questions.2.Can we use the learner’s eye movement behavior data and experimental related information to predict the difficulty of test questions.3.Explore whether learners’ different cognitive styles will affect visual attention.Analysis of eye movement indicators collected in eye movement experiments,we found that(1)the difficult of questions,especially the type of questions,have a significant effect on student’s visual attention,and students have different visual attention patterns for different types of testing problems;(2)Using the C5.0 decision tree algorithm to predictive difficulty,the answer result,the total gaze time,and the number of gazes were the most important three variables,and accuracy of prediction is 84%;(3)There are significant differences in the scores of learners with different cognitive styles,there are significant differences in some eye movement behaviors among learners with different cognitive styles,and there are no significant differences in some eye movement behaviors.The research of students’ eye movement behavior can provide suggestions for students’ performance prediction and give some insights into multiple modality biological data representation research.
