| The rapid development of contemporary information technology has promoted the trend of educational informatization.The geography curriculum standard of elementary education also reflects the educational connection.Both of them show the use of information technology resources for implement teaching.Due to the spatial and regional nature of geography,it has great significance to use Google Earth 3D visualization as a tool for geography teaching in junior high schools.This paper analyzes the relevant literature by literature research and comprehensive analysis,and sorts out the concept,main functions and operation cases of Google Earth.Foreign teaching uses Google Earth and other geographic information technologies are earlier than domestic teaching,the domestic practicing and researching of Google Earth for geography teaching application is also growing in recent years,but the application research in geography of junior high school is still less than high school’s.Based on the investigation,the use of Google Earth is deeply researched in this paper;it is also researched through different ways,such as case study method and interview method.The conclusion as below:(1)The intuitiveness and interactivity of Google Earth is in line with the cognitive level of junior high school students.In the junior high school geography textbook,it can help students understand abstract geographical knowledge,expand the knowledge of teaching materials,and can also be used in teaching process.The teaching methods form complementary advantages and reflect the application value.(2)In addition to the basic operational functions,Google Earth combines the knowledge content of teaching materials in the teaching practice process to design functions suitable for geography teaching,such as self-made latitude and longitude,three-dimensional stereograms,etc.(3)The strategy of using Google Earth application teaching is divided into three processes.Firstly,the textbook should be analyzed on the basis of the academic situation,and the software should be combined with the software.Secondly,the advantages of other traditional teaching aids and PPTs should be complemented.The integration of words,images and other functions,the interface is simple and beautiful;finally,the rich teaching forms are designed in different aspects of teaching.(4)The evaluation should be obtained by interview after using the applied strategy for practical teaching.In summary,it can be known that the implementation of Google Earth teaching not only conforms to the cognitive psychology of students,but also facilitates students’ interest in geography.At the same time,it helps to make knowledge concrete andlife-oriented,cultivate students’ spatial thinking ability,so it is worth promoting in teaching.(5)Google Earth has some shortcomings in its own performance,there will be a negative effect if it is not properly operated in right ways,this paper provides some suggestions for schools,teachers and students,in order to expand the scope of Google Earth use,promote the improvement of teachers’ information literacy,explore more teaching functions,and improve the quality of geography teaching,and finally let students like geography more and more. |
