History textbooks are not only the main resources for students to learn,but also the main materials for teachers teaching.They play an important role in the process of teaching and learning.Through the study of textbooks,students gain knowledge and ability,enhance their consciousness,and cultivate their sentiments.The structure of textbooks is closely related to the function of textbooks.Whether the design of the structure is reasonable or not directly affects the role played by textbooks.Nowadays,more and more American education and American textbooks are studied.By analying the structure of American history textbooks,new ideas and insights are provided for the preparation of Chinese historical textbooks.The study of the structure of textbooks is mainly from the external structure of the textbook and the internal organization structure.The former includes the cover and author,catalogue,instructions for use and appendices.The latter takes the relevant content of the “Industrial Revolution” as an example,and is divided into a text system and a text-assisted system.The article believes that the overall structure of the textbook “World History” of the American McGraw-Hill edition is basically reasonable,rich in content and clear in level,and can play itsOn the basis of the study of the structure of the textbook of “World History” in the US McGraw-Hill edition,the article introduces its structure and characteristics.On the one hand,it deepens the understanding of the structure and design of textbooks,and on the other hand provides references for the compilation of textbook structure in China.
