| Objective: The column of Genetics and Evolution is helpful for teachers to dig out the textbook resources and students to study biological knowledge,but the specific use of the column in the teaching process is unknown;This paper investigates the use of columns in the teaching materials of Heredity and Evolution in senior high schools in Shihezi area by means of questionnaires and interviews,and then reveals the current situation of teachers’ use of columns in the teaching process as a reflection of the implementation of the new curriculum reform;Through the analysis of columns,teachers can guide teaching,make teachers use the columns of textbooks to teach in a correct way,enrich the teaching content,and make the columns provide a new platform for students to learn biology,and enhance students’ interest in biology learning.Methods: From the aspects of teachers’ and students’ understanding of the column,the way of using the column and the reading situation,we set up the corresponding column questionnaire,analyze the content of the questionnaire and interview outline,get the current situation of the use of the column in Shihezi area,and put forward the optimized use strategy according to the current situation,for example,the content of the teaching material column is embedded in the teaching content,strengthening learning and the content of the teaching material column is students’ homework,examination method to check the effect,which are implemented in two classes of compulsory two,after implementation,the effect is detected by interview and t est,and suggestions for the use of the corresponding column are put forward.1.The current situation of teachers and students’ use of teaching material columns in Shihezi area:Teachers(1)Teachers are not familiar with the columns of textbooks,lack of understanding of their functions,and imbalance in the use of various columns and time;The survey results show that a small number of teachers are familiar with the columns,most teachers have a low level of understanding of the role of the columns,and think that the columns of textbooks have little effect on students and themselves;The use of columns mainly focuses on thinking and discussion,this section focus,side column thinking questions and other settings more columns,while the number of columns is almost no use,the use of columns is not balanced,the use time is mainly concentrated in lesson preparation and class.(2)The mode of use mainly depends on the teacher’s own explanation,and students are difficult to understand,which is not conducive to the understanding of knowledge,the column of textbooks is too complex,their own ability is limited are the greatest difficulties restricting the use of the column of textbooks by teachers;(3)Teachers give a high degree of affirmation to the establishment and characteristics of the compulsory two columns.Students:(1)Students are not familiar with the required second column and reading situation is poor,and students rely on teachers to explain the use of the textbook column;The survey shows that only 28% of the students have a complete understanding of the textbook column,other students generally do not even understand the column,and only a few students read the textbook column during learning time and after class,60% of the students read the column only to see or not to read at all,and the way of using the column depends on the explanation of the teacher in class.Less of their own initiative to read the textbook column,the lack of enthusiasm to read the column.(2)Learning task is heavy,there is no time has become the biggest restriction factor for students to use the columns of textbooks;There are many factors that restrict the use of student columns,among which heavy learning tasks,no time has the greatest impact,and other factors such as few students around to use have less impact.(3)The students have a good recognition to the usage rate of the teacher’s column and the setting of the column,the most favorite columns are skill training,data analysis,thinking and discussion,problem discussion,this section focuses on.2.The results of optimization strategy implementation:According to the current situation of the use of columns,two kinds of optimization strategies are put forward and implemented,which are embedding the contents of teaching materials into teaching contents,strengthening learning and the contents of teaching materials are students’ homework,and the way of examination is to check the effect.The results show that the implementation of the optimization strategy is conducive to improving students’ learning enthusiasm for the column and can improve students’ performance.3.Recommendations for useIn the process of using the required second textbook column,we should have a definite object in view,teach students in accordance with their aptitude,arrange the study of the textbook column according to the specific characteristics of students,and not blindly impose the study of the textbook column on students.Conclusion: The purpose of this study is to investigate the current situation of the use of the column of Heredity and Evolution by teachers and students in Shihezi area,to analyze the current situation,to sum up the existing problems in the use of the column,and to put forward corresponding optimization strategies and implement them.The measures are as follows: The content of the column is embedded in the teaching content,strengthen learning and The content of the column is students’ homework,and the way of examination is to check the effect.The implementation effect shows that these two measures are conducive to the improvement of the enthusiasm of teachers and students for the
