With the deepening reform in Chinese course,“thematic” teaching is advocated and applied in junior high schools in Jiangsu Province,whose Chinese textbooks are of the uniform edition of Jiangsu Education Press.“Thematic” teaching falls into the category of comprehensive learning,which is a great innovation of Chinese course in junior high schools of Jiangsu province.It is as well the focus and difficulty in Chinese teaching reform.With its practical application,there exists many problems in exercising “thematic” teaching.Therefore,the thesis explores the relevant problems in “thematic” teaching with the guidance scaffolding instruction theory in order to revise practice with scientific bracing and realize curriculum objectives of self-directed learning,inquirylearning and interdisciplinary learning required in provincial curriculum standards.With scaffolding instruction,more Chinese course teachers can consciously improve their teaching skills,so as to enhance the quality of subject teaching.In turn,suitable scaffolding instruction applied in “thematic” teaching can assist students to learn autonomously by constructing and deconstructing scaffolds before leaving learning task to students themselves.Students,therefore,are encouraged to learn more freely,to develop interest freely and to sharpen their wits freely.The thesis makes an attempt to combine scaffolding instruction theory with the“thematic”teaching in Chinese course of junior high school,while providing a scientific guidance for integrated teaching of Chinese textbooks of Jiangsu edition.Meanwhile,methods of literature analysis and case study are utilized in analyzing practical teaching cases of “thematic” teaching class to explore the practical value of scaffolding instruction in Chinese “thematic” teaching.The thesis contains five chapters.The introduction part expounds the purpose and significance of studying scaffolding instruction application in “thematic” teaching in junior high schools.Chapter two defines concepts of “scaffolds” and “scaffolding teaching” and analyzes current status,research results and development trend of “scaffolding teaching” home and abroad.In the same chapter,the theoretical basis of the scaffolding instruction is concisely introduced and argued.Chapter three discusses the feasibility of scaffolding instruction for the “thematic” course of the Chinese language in junior high schools.Textbook arrangement of Jiangsu education edition together with its content of classified “themes” is analyzed and reasons for the scaffolding instruction conforming to curriculum objective of “thematic” teaching are explained.Chapter four introduces scaffolding construction of Chinese “thematic” teaching and analyzes specific teaching cases of scaffolding application.Chapter five summarizes and discusses the achievements and insufficiency of the thesis.It as well indicates direction for future research,hoping to provide a reference for the comprehensive teaching in Junior Chinese textbook.
