Classical Chinese texts are the essence of the Chinese traditional culture and important components.So,the students are required to cultivate classical Chinese texts reading experience and enhance their perception and comprehension of Chinese excellent traditional culture,which is both put forward in the latest The General High School Chinese Curriculum Standards(2017 edition)by Ministry of Education and senior high school Chinese textbooks.As a matter of fact,the teaching of classical Chinese texts is required to achieve a higher level.Based on the theory of Zone of Proximal Development(ZPD),the scaffold teaching method emphasizes that the teachers who are adapt to students' need can support and guide their students to achieve their learning goals and improve their ability of autonomous learning by building scaffold teaching between students' present development level and potential one.Accordingly,the application of scaffold teaching to the teaching of classical Chinese texts can not only arouse the students' enthusiasm,but also meet the needs of teaching classical Chinese texts in senior high school.This thesis is composed of five chapters.The first chapter analyzes the background and feasibility and reviews the study both abroad and at home of the application of scaffold teachingin the classical Chinese texts teaching in senior high schools.The second chapter mainly explains the concepts and related theories of the present study.The third chapter focuses on the characteristics of classical Chinese texts and the teaching of them,and the present study designs two categories of scaffolds teaching of senior high school classical Chinese texts,namely the ones with both of the characteristics of classical Chinese texts and the teaching of them,including nine kinds of scaffolds with illustrations of their concepts and applications.The fourth chapter illustrates the basic principles,steps and the defeasibility of scaffolding teaching of classical Chinese texts.Finally,the present study designs scaffold teachingof classical Chinese texts in senior high school in the case study of the classical Chinese text named as The Battle of the Candle to Defeat Qin.In the fifth chapter,this thesis summaries the findings and limitations of the present study and proposes the future research orientation.
