Analogy is the main form of logical reasoning,which is also an important thinking method and plays a vital role in high school mathematics teaching and learning.As a form of plausible reasoning and a process of mathematical activities,analogy helps develop students’ innovative thinking and provides theoretical tools for students to explore,thus cultivating students’ independent inquiry ability that meets the requirements of "new curriculum standards".This thesis aims to explain the application of analogy in the introduction of classes,reviewing and exercises in the high school mathematics teaching based on the theoretical research on analogy.This thesis contains five parts.The first part mainly introduces the background and significance of the application of analogy in high school mathematics teaching.It also analyzes the status quo of the research about it both at home and abroad.The second part depicts the mathematical thinking methods first.Then it introduces the concept,form and characteristics of the analogy,and divides the most common analogy into three types which are knowledge analogy,method analogy and form analogy.Finally,the relationship between induction and analogy is illustrated.The third part mainly expounds the three relevant educational theories for this thesis including structural mapping theory,learning transfer theory,constructivism theory.The fourth part is mainly based on the analogy theory and the principle of active participation,goal orientation and process orientation.It exemplifies the application of analogy in the introduction of new knowledge,reviewing and exercises.The fifth part mainly studies the application of analogy in high school mathematics teaching.Two cases are selected from the senior high school mathematics coursebook by People’s Education Press,and the teaching design and reflection are also given here.Finally,to sum up.The application of analogy thinking in high school mathematics teaching can make the teaching and learning more effective.Meanwhile,this thesis also explains the improvements needed to be done in this research,and hopefully to push forward the application of analogy in senior high school mathematics teaching.
