Professional Ethics Education For Vocational Students In Tourism

Tourism is an important industry of our national economy and one of the fastest growing industries in the world.It plays an increasingly important role in China’s society and international exchanges,also it is an important part of modern service.At present,China’s tourism industry has entered a new period of development,ans is striding forward to become a powerful tourism country in the world.Tourism Industry is a newly-developing industry nowadays,and the professional ethics quality level of tourism practitioners directly affects the service level and outward image.Professional ethics education is one of the important patterns of manifestations of moral education,a subtly influenced job.Most of tourism major vocational students will be directly join into society;move on to career after graduation,their situation of professional ethics will be directly related to the future development of Tourism Industry in our country.In recent years,there have been many social problems caused by the vicious events which was due to lack of professional ethics from tourism workers,so we must strengthen the professional ethics education of tourism to tourism major students including vocational students.Professional ethics education of tourism is an important part of vocational education.It is an educational activity that bases on the curriculum to teach tourism professional ethics knowledge,combines production and education,school-enterprise cooperation and voluntary service,and cultivates tourism service talents with high professional identity and service spirit,practicing tourism professional ethics and having good professional behavior habits.。 We take Guangzhou Vocational School of Tourism&Business as an example,this paper clarifies the internal levels and objectives of vocational ethics education for secondary vocational students majoring in tourism by investigating teachers,students and employers at different levels,analyses the achievements and shortcomings of vocational ethics education for tourism in current secondary vocational schools,and puts forward pertinent suggestions to strengthen secondary vocational education for tourism majors.Feasible countermeasures for students’ professional ethics education.This article is divided into the following parts: The first chapter introduces the significance of the topic selection,the current status of domestic research,specific practice of professional ethics in foreign countries and methods and contents of this research.The second chapter is about the content,objective and way of tourism professional ethics education.By defining the connotation of professional ethics of middle school students in the tourism profession,setting the goal of professional ethics education for vocational school students in tourism major which is to observe professional ethics standards,shape the spirit of tourism professionalism,internalize the values of professional ethics,and practice professional ethics.Therefore,there are four ways to conduct professional ethics education for middle and vocational students in tourism majors: guiding on the basis of tourism professional skills training,teaching on the basis of tourism professional ethics courses,experiencing on the basis of tourism practice and activities,and appraising of competition or the professional events to lead the promotion.In the third chapter is the Present Situation of Professional Ethics Education for vocational students in Tourism Major.From questionnaires surveys given to students,the interview with core teacher of moral and tourism professional courses,and participate in classroom for on-site research,as well as interviews with representatives of internship units working with schools and enterprises.Through these interview data and materials,the paper analyzes the current situation and problems of professional ethics knowledge,attitude and practice(KAP)teaching in tourism majors,also the causes of these problems.The last chapter takes aim at countermeasures to optimize Professional Ethics Education of vocational students in tourism major.Based on the analysis of the survey results,this paper puts forward the countermeasures to optimize Professional Ethics Education of vocational students in tourism major.Schools should strive to form a pattern of all-round education,including the construction of professional ethics education level outstanding teachers;Optimize the comprehensive education system of vocational ethics education,and improve the curriculum system,carry out vocational education activity weeks,and build a platform for volunteer service activities;Promote school-enterprise cooperation in education,carry out the pilot of modern apprenticeship,select excellent internship units,and hold special educational activities;As well as the development of foreign exchange exchange platform,in cooperation to optimize the concept of professional ethics.
