A Study On Care Burnout Of Family Caregivers Of Disable Children From The Perspective Of Social Support Theory

At present,the number of disable children in China accounts for 2.66% of the total number of children in the country,about 9 million.The data shows that disable children are a relatively large group in China.The care,rehabilitation and education of disable children are important issues that need to be solved urgently by society and government.As disable children have defects in physical and mental development,family caregivers spend a lot of time and energy and bear excessive pressure in taking care of disable children,which makes family caregivers prone to the problem of care burnout.This phenomenon has a negative impact on the growth and development of disable children.According to relevant studies,there is a strong correlation between social support and burnout.Therefore,this study hopes to discuss the care burnout of family caregivers of disable children under the social support theory.This study was guided by the social support theory and carried out in the Q institution.Research data was collected through observation,interview and questionnaire.On the basis of situation of the care burnout and social support of family caregivers for disable children,the care burnout and social support of family caregivers were analyzed,and the plan for group work was made based on this.The group work mainly aimed at the three points,including supplementing the information support and emotional support,building the mutual support network and improving the ability of clients to use the social support network.The purpose of group work is to improve the social support network of family caregivers so as to alleviate the care burnout.The result shows that the practice of group work can promote the social support network for family caregivers of disable children and alleviate the problem of care burnout.However,the group work has limitations and cannot meet all the social supports and solve all the problems needed by the family caregivers in taking care of disable children,and the care burnout of the family caregivers still existed.Finally,under the guidance of social support theory and according to the research results,this paper further discusses the methods for social work in construction of social support network for family caregivers of disable children,so as to alleviate the problem of care burnout.
