The newly revised 2017 edition of the general high school biology curriculum standards clearly stipulates the education goal of the core quality of biology.Exercise section is an important component of the teaching material,which helps students to acquire competence and improve discipline core quality whi le practicing and applying new knowledge.It is also an important resource to carry out teaching evaluation for teachers.Research on the exercises in textbooks can better implement the core qualities of biology in teaching practice and textbook compilation.This research takes the module 'Molecule and Cell" of compulsory high school from the human education edition as an example to make statistics of the distribution of the four core qualities of biology in different parts of each chapter and exercise section.This paper summarizes the characteristics and functions of textbook exercises from the perspective of biological core literacy.The questionnaire was used to investigate the current situation of the exercises in textbooks which combine the core biological literacy of teachers in HongQiao district of Tianjin,and the chi-square test was conducted on the data through SPSS 22.0 for Windows.The preliminary conclusions are drawn in the research:(1)The exercise section pays the most attention to the cultivation of life concept accomplishment,followed by scientific thinking,scientific inquiry and social responsibility.(2)The exercises in textbooks focus on the examination of basic knowledge and concepts,but most of them are related to memory problems.The materials in exercises conforms to real life,but the problem of hysteresis still exists in this situation.(3)On the basis of evaluation,the exercise section further promotes the development of students' core literacy level in biology.Through the analysis of examples,it is not hard to find that exercises in the textbook have a good reflection of the literacy level in each subdivision of the four dimensions of core literacy in biology.(4)Teachers pay more attention to the exercise section in teaching activities,but they can' t totally grasp some of the core biological literacy which contained in the exercise,and the degree which use exercises to evaluate the development of students' core biological literacy is relatively low.Suggestions are put forward as follows:on the compilation of exercises in textbooks(1)the number of exercises involving scientific thinking,scientific inquiry and social responsibility should be appropriately increased;(2)the setting of the topics in basic concept and the knowledge should pay attention to raises student's thinking ability;(3)exercise situation should be linked to the actual,with The Times.In addition,teachers should(1)have a deep understanding of the core qualities of biology,thoroughly analyze the exercises in textbooks;(2)make full use of all kinds of exercises to evaluate the development of student s core qualities in biology in their teaching process.
