Accompanied by the release of General High School Biology Curriculum Standars(2017 Edition),to cultivate students’ core literacy in biology has become an important task for front-line biology teachers.The important objective of education is to help students to be persons beneficial to the society by equipping themselves with correct values and the ability to deal with problems instead of teaching them inflexible knowledge alone.Therefore,how to effectively improve students’ core literacy of biology has become a bottleneck problem faced by every biology teacher.In the light of the fact that the history of biological science includes a large number of scientists’ inquiry processes,integrating the teaching of the history of science into the teaching process so that students can think and explore like scientists in the learning process should be very helpful to students to develop core literacy.Firstly,this study preliminarily interprets the concepts of core literacy and the history of biological science through literature research,and list relevant education and teaching theories.Secondly,through questionnaires and interviews,the paper investigates the current situation of the teaching of the history of Biological Science in the author’s high school.Then,according to the problems found in the survey and the data consulted,the paper summarizes the effective teaching strategies by applying the teaching of history of science to biology teaching in high schools.Then an experimental class and a ordinary class in the first grade of the author’s high school are set up.The experimental class carries out the teaching of history of science,and the control class adopts conventional teaching.Finally,carry out the pre-test.And after a period of time to do the post-test in the form of paper-and-pencil test,and the relevant data are obtained.The data are processed and analyzed to verify the significant functions of the teaching of history of Science in cultivating students’ core literacy.The survey found that the length and frequency of science history teaching in senior high school biology classroom are not enough,and teachers also have difficulties in using science history in teaching.The findings are that the use of optimized teaching strategies of history of science plays a more prominent role in improving students’ core literacy and ability compared with conventional teaching methods,especially in the cultivation of students’ scientific thinking and scientific inquiry ability.After a period of science history teaching,students at different levels have significantly improved their core literacy,but students with better levels have improved more significantly.It shows that the use of science history teaching is indeed an effective teaching method worthy of exploration and practice by front-line teachers.It is expected to further accumulate experience and summarize better teaching methods in the follow-up teaching process. |
